| I'm planning a UTV / mini monster truck build and was / am wanting to use this 122419X as a transmission and transfer case for it. But I thought asking a few questions first might save on agrivation and $$$.
First is this a good choice for strength? Second how do they handle being run at high RPM? Third Any reason I couldn't put a TAV between the engine and transaxle? I'm told the TAV allows aproximently a 8 or 10:1 overdrive. Fourth has anyone done any gear changing inside to reduce the final drive ratio from the 9:1 it is now? Fifth any problems or things to watch out for with this transaxle? Sixth and maybe most important can anyone point me to a repair manual? Any thoughts comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

| I'll start off to keep the topic alive. Not sure the old mods that were knowledgeable are still around.
- They are a good strong ground engaging transaxle. Not the top strongest, I would give that to a Cub, Wheel Horse and Peerless 2300, (personally)
- I have one that I ran up to 33MPH using a large engine pulley once. It seemed to run fine. Whined a little bit, but that is to be expected for these style transmissions.
- TAV, I'm thinking torque converter? I see no issue with this, but I would keep the clutch between the Trans and it's driving pulley. This transaxle does not like to shift with the pulley spinning.
- -unknown- I've only seen them welded locked or moose knuckle locked. (Don't do the planetary flip to lock, I have seen people in social media bust their transaxles that way)
- Just trying to shift while pulley spins. @AllisKidD21 has one that has some issues that he was planning to disect soon. He also had a c-clip fall out inside messing with the hi-lo.
- Yikes, I do not know if I have seen a repair manual for these Roper/AYP transaxles. Just a parts breakdown at the end of the manual for the tractor.
Hopefully some of the other guys will pop in and give better tech answers for you.

| Thanks again! Sounds like this isn't a bad choice of transaxles to use. Maybe not the best though. But it's one I have in hand. I also ordered 2 of the gears from moose`s post. Itll also work to lock up the rear in my GT. Although I'd really rather have the on demand locker in it. Which isn't hard to do. It gets used quite a lot here on the homestead! | |

| Alright my gears finally came in to lock this rear up. Bad thing is now I've started several other projects that are going to take awhile. Although I can't hardly wait to get inside this thing and see if I can swap some gears around to change the final drive ratio. | |
