Hahaha. oh yes I know, I went north of the border for senior trip, me and about 8 guy went bar hopping when our chaperones went to bed. we were the cause of the 'new' rule that senior trips can't cross borders anymore in local school districts. I had a short and violent love affair with everclear and some random liquors that put me on my face all the way home.

- Hey guys, got a new project some of you may be interested in!
But I’ll post large milestones on here as I go. It’s an 89 Chevy C1500, stick shift 350 tbi, has 257k on it but I’m not too worried about that. It’ll be getting a twin turbo built LS based truck engine. Goal is 800 hp and I’m keeping the stick. Has an nv3500 in it now, and whenever it quits I’ll go to a t56. Getting lowered on QA1 coilovers for a 4 inch drop in the front and 6 inch in the rear. Currently it has American racing wheels, I’ll put some black D-hole steel wheels on it at some point.
Let me know what you guys think @CraftsmanQuad19 Sweet deal. This is fairly close to my project that I got going on right now. 71 chevy c-10. Its getting a LQ4 engine (Ls based 6.0 liter), with a tremac t-56 magnum 6speed transmission. Will be full coil-over suspension and tubular arms and drop spindles up front and tubular trailing arms in the back. Big brake kits front and rear with some form of power adder (leaning towards turbos but not set in stone yet.) Need and help or info on your build feel free to hit me up.

| That is awesome! I’m hoping for an LQ4 or LQ9 in mine, but I’d take a LM7 or 4.8 (idk that engine code lol) for the right price. Being a stick it’ll need a twin disk clutch to hold the power, so I’d like some bottom end torque for take off. Debated doing a 4.8/6.0 hybrid but again, bottom end torque | |

| @CraftsmanQuad19 In all honestly I wouldn't worry about what motor to get at first, I'd just find the most complete one as possible. From air box to o2 sensors, full uncut wiring harness and computer. Unless you plan on running a Holley or some other aftermarket computer setup, then I may look for a certain-ish motor as long as it is fairly complete. After the initial swap it's really easy to swap to other variances of the ls based Motors. A couple bolts some electrical plug and a quick tune and it's ready to go. Ps. I do have a (I think it's a l33) aluminum block 5.3. #2 cylinder, the piston grenaded apart and the rod is bent around the crank / cylinder. The block appears to be fine but not 100% sure of that. Will need a bore job to clean up that cylinder. Its only the block , but I do have a full wiring harness, fuse block, gas pedal, and the obd port. I'd let it go fairly cheep if your looking for a project engine. | |

| Maybe if I was a little closer. I’m really looking for an iron block though and it will stay drive by cable (I assume yours is drive by wire since you mentioned the pedal). My power goal is 800 reliably with the option of turning it up to 1000 on the track if I want to. This is still a street truck lmao | |

| Quick change of topic here, I picked up another real nice garden tractor project earlier this week and I thought I'd share! Oh yeah, big ol' Wheel Horse 953! Missing a couple pieces like the hood, grille mesh, etc, but that stuff will come in due time. She runs and drives real good, and the hydraulic lift works great as well! I've always wanted one of these models as I love the styling. These 953's were only made for one year, and this one has the Ross steering box and a serial number starting with 62, which makes it an early first generation one! I'm quite happy with it so far, it's super comfortable to drive in all aspects. Let me know what ya think! I got a hood for the ol' girl today, it's for a 1054 though so the decal is wrong, but regardless it looks much better now: This thing is definitely a beast, I love it! | Interesting stats for the new year...
As of TODAY, we have 1908 members on the site. 795 of those have never posted a thing. That leaves 1113 members that have posted something on the site. Over the past year around 750 member accounts were purged because they met the following criteria.
Account older than 5 years, plus never logged in or haven't in over 5 years, plus never posted. If the never logged on in past 5 yrs had posted at least 1 time, the account would not have been pruned.

| Thought I'd share some nuts and bolts cleaning. Was at the store a few days back and think8ng what i could use as a media to clean nuts and bolts in my harbor freight rock tumbler. What came to mind was comet bleach powder. So picked up a can went home and ran the tumbler just over night and had great results. It even cleans the grease off. Before After | |

can't bleach powder (comet) cause corrosion? sure it'll eat the old stuff off, but think of chlorine bleach/chlorine gas in piping... rots pretty quick

| I have not had a issue yet with rusting. These where only left in a bleach water mixture over night in the tumbler then cleaned really well then bagged in wd40 for a night.
Im sure there is a fine line where it really could etch the he'll out the bolts. Just gotta be careful
