I'm going to go ahead and approve you. We typically do not approve builds that are not being reclassified into something else. You did a great job telling us your plans that even though you are building a racer from a racer; it is still going to be a "radically different" build. Because of this, you have been approved.
Good luck!

@MightyRaze thank you !! yes it is a racer to a racer and i took the chance to find out if i was able to enter it , with every thing i have to do to convert it from FXS to FXT is a lot of hard work and trying to shoe horn the big v-twin under the hood and still meet specs !! i have a big task on my hands !!

the FXT racer is coming along , been a long day out in the shop working hard ti shoe horn the 670 under the hood !! i pulled all the body parts off that needed to come off , the steering wheel , shaft and linkage , pulled all old wiring , gas tank , over flow tank , seat and dash !! opened up the 670 and pulled the muffler , key switch box , throttle and chock cables , pulled the oil cooler air breather cover and any brackets i do not need !! i set the engine on the frame and centered it up the best i could with out clutch DID NOT drill any mounting holes yet , i flipped the steering shaft to the top of the dash across the top of the engine and found i needed a lil more room LOL i cut the front steering brace off and moved it 1 1/2 inches forward and built the new steering shaft !! , i did have to trim the very bottom edge of the hood after the steering was done and drilled 2 new mounting holes to be able to use the old mounting point , the back side of the hood was fine like it was !! after i got the complete steering done and hood remounted i moved to the back of the racer and the seat location , i cut the old mounting tabs off and set the seat angle to fit me !! i redone the bottom seat mount and used a craftsman rear fender mount and welded the seat back tabs in a new location !! like i said its been a very long day !!

Not what I said but yah! Just killer dude, LOL. Might want to make a support for that U-joint in the steering in front of the engine. The angle is steep for the U-joint and might bind and bend to the side.

Ya prancstaman is right. I was almost thinking with how tall that 670 is you would be better off changing the steering to underneath. If the U-joint doesn't seem like it's binding at all you might be fine then. Good luck man great build!

well i got some more work done on the FXT !! today i pulled the engine out and removed the hood , i threw on a set of 18s on the back so i could build my fenders witch by the way was a pain LOL , i used a set of MTD rear fenders and cut them in half , cut to length and drilled to holes upfront . i used a 20 inch piece of 1 inch square tube to tie the 2 half's together , i cut the supports out of the old fenders and welded them to the back side of the new fenders , i used part of the fenders i cut off to fill in the big hole in the middle , i used a trans bracket's to make the rear mounts for the fenders . i still need to grind down all welds and do a final trim to them and add 1 back support before paint . i built the dash out of an old craftsman hood and drilled for all switches and gauges and tether kill !! after i got that stuff done the shop was warm enough to paint so i cleaned up the frame and got to work !! the next day i get to work i will start back on the rear fenders and get the finished along with the hood and dash then off to paint , at this point if i get that done i will be waiting on all the other parts to come in !!
MORE GO FAST PARTS CAME IN TODAY !!!!!!!!!! tomorrow i will install the new hydro brakes along with the rear hubs , rims and front rims and tires , it will get moved to the other side of my garage while i grind my welds down and finish my rear fenders , my wheel horse hood needs a lil love as well before paint !! now if every thing goes right and the way i have planed the fenders , hood and dash will be painted tomorrow if i get all that done i will be just waiting on my racing clutch to come in and because of that i cant mount the engine or build my exhaust because of placement issues !! but by the end of this week end it will be close to being done !!

well another long day in the shop !! my plans did not go like i wanted today , i started out by installing the hydro brake system , the rear hubs and tires , mounted the seat, then mounted the front rims and tires !! i set the rig on all 4's and soon found out the steering needed to be redone for a 2nd time !! i cut it apart and moved one of the mounts and then built new supports , i welded every thing back together and set the engine in it to see if she would turn with me and the engine on it and SHE DID !! now its back on the jack stands and getting covered up for tomorrow when i start working on grinding all my welds on the rear fenders and hood before i paint them , i also need to work on both chain guards and cut the main steering shaft and move it closer to the dash to make it fit me , then i need to move the gas and brake pedals forward some to fit me also !! the clutch should be in next week and then the real fun of this build starts !!

FIRST TEST DRIVE OF THE FXT RIG MISTRESS !! at this point she is set for about half throttle until i finish breaking the engine in . i have some things to adjust to fit me a lil better like the steering shaft needs to be shorter and the gas pedal needs to be moved forward other than that she feels pretty good !! i will have more pics and video to come in the next few weeks so stay tuned !!

I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck or a party pooper or anything, and it is a really nice looking build, I'm just wondering if it qualifies for the build-off because the rules specifically say:
Rules wrote:
4.) (E)xamples are: Lawn tractor, yard tractor, garden tractor and mini chassis’, stock or modified...No space frames, or frames made primarily from tubing that are resemblant to go karts, rock crawlers/ bouncers, etc.
This seems to be a go-kart with a mower hood on it, and I remember in the past 4-wheeler frames and whatnot weren't allowed. It's a really nice build, I'm just wondering if it qualifies.

@Double W Cross Ranch well it sure is not a go cart !! i did enter it in just like every one else has done and because of what it is and what i had to do to convert it over from FXS to FXT is only part of it , yes some say its a cart but its not , yes i used some cart parts , i will say this - it is a tractor that was built by the USLMA rules and specs and it will be let in at any lawn tractor race around , i also started with just a frame and had a hefty parts bill with every thing that was missing . im not being a jerk but it was passed in by admin because of what it is and what i had to do , also i know its only been 8 days from the start of my build till now but it is not done and there is a lot more to come !!
