Can i put the carb from the 16hp on my 11.5 for more power?

ok i have 2 things one i just picked up a craftsmen II aka the big cube ones with the 16 v twin and it was left out side with the hood off and and the carb was off and the motor got water in it and froz over winter and i just got it for free and it did cracked the block so i put a 11.5 briggs on it and it has a bad carb witch is the only wrong with it. its my fav motor it means a lot to me seens it came off my first tractor and i seem to not kill it. but back to my ? if i can do it can i put the carb from the 16hp on my 11.5 for more power? i know its going to be alot of work but i got tools and a welder and thats all i will need. thank u for taking your time to read this should have pics soon

Alot of racers use mikuni carbs off snowmobiles and motorcycles - so it should be possible- only problems are an adapter to mount it to the motor and linkage- youll need to be a lil creative.

Most likely for the linkage youll need a foot or hand throttle - but youd also be disabling the governer ( carb would need to be mounted up higher on the motor) which i dont suggest, unless the motor had been properly built for the higher revs ( IE billet flywheel and internals).

Id either save it for another twin you come across or look into a motorcycle/scooter type carb.

I bot a couple scooter carbs at a flea market for $15 each- sometime i plan on adapting one to a twin and one to a single cylender motor - just too many projects on my plate.
