| OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!
For the first time since I discovered ATLTF about 4.5 years ago, my work is allowing images from the site! It was part of the reason I waited so long to join. Even though I read a lot of the forums, I just could not enjoy the site because of this and, I forgot to look again when I got home if a topic caught my eye. It wasn't till later that I did catch the site again from home that I got hooked in for good 2 years almost exactly ago. From there the rest is history!

| We moved into a different house on Aug 30 2016. The old house had quite a few projects started and not finished. With work and life I never went over there to work or didn't stay to long if I did. Well during the tail end of this spring motivation finally kick in, been over there everyday and spent some real time working each night. (That's why I've not posted on my build off mower all summer.) I got it to a good stopping point and had a realtor list it on Friday. I have it priced lower than market value due to stuff not being completely done, and its connected to a little league field. Just got word from my realtor that I had 2 offers made today. Its been on the market for 5 to 6 days, I can't believe it thought I'd be sitting on it for years. I know in not out of the woods yet with it, but this really made my day. | |

| it's got some damage on one corner, and the 6.5 briggs under the hood doesn't seem to mount up right, there's only 2 bolts holding it in, but the 3 speed tranny shifts through all the gears, the deck and blade are in really good shape, to be honest we can't decide what to do with this little guy, my niece wants it, she's 11, but our roommate wants to buy it to mow small yards with, and then there's the fact this could make an awesome little speedster which is actually what I thought of doing originally, but I do have my little jd rer I planned to build a street cart or race style mower out of, we could sell this one to our roommate and keep the big mower he was buying off us instead, I know my niece wants this one, but I think the little john deer would be good for her too, I can easily get another street cart chassis later on, or get my little 50cc e-ton 4 wheeler fixed for her to ride, if I could figure out what is wrong with it | |

| I've been doing some research on the little toro, it's made between 70 and 73, it came with a 5hp briggs and has a peerless 352 transmission, the deck is only 25in and it comes stock with 13x5-6 rear and tiny little 11x4-5 front tires, i'd love to build it to be honest, but the steering needs some parts and I can't seem to find the parts needed to fix it, it's not safe to ride as is, the drag link comes off at the ball socket and it's not a part where I can simply replace the ball ends, if anyone knows where I can find parts for this i'd be most grateful for your help | |

| then I guess i'm going to have to figure out what's wrong with my welder, if this toro is a rare little tractor I will take the time and restore it I think, or do the best I can to restore it, an original 5hp briggs engine shouldn't be hard to get, or I can use a modern equivalent, this did have dual starting, both pull rope and electric start. i'm not going to be worried about being totally faithful to original, but I would like to come as close as I can I guess i'll fix it up and let my niece have my little john deer rer | |

| i have to ask about this, a few days ago a friend of my brothers came by, we hadn't seen him in yrs, and Jeremy was showing him his craftsman, we started talking mowers and he started talking about how he had built a race mower a few yrs ago, but how he said he did it sounded like a load of baloney, he claimed he used a step pulley, according to him it went from 2in to 4in, on the transaxle, he said he made a lever with side mounted idlers that ran above and below the belt to shift the belt from one size to the next, he said this would give him 4 gears in every transale gear, I don't believe it's possible to do this, at least not without destroying the belt pretty quickly, but i'm no engineer so I don't know, so what do you guys think, | |

| Well drill presses and ancient line shaft machnery typically have step pulleys but they are designed to be changed with the shafts not turning. I don't see a way to shift a belt from one v groove to another on the fly without the belt coming off or turning over. This setup has potetential though. It could be used kinda like a quick change rear end. You could suit the best pulley ratio for your riding conditions. | |

| Im sure his idea worked, similar to a multi speed bike. But like you said it would eat belts pretty quick
Pulled an engine out of a 97 gmc suburban with a friend for his 82 c10 project yesterday. its a Vortec 350, potentially a 4 bolt main. should be a fun motor to build over the next couple months and swap in a day. He daily drives the c10 too! its pretty cool, needs the new interior put in it, and the grill is on the way but the base is solid and he already repainted it. Has a turbo 350 trans. thinking a shift kit in the trans and a couple factory transmission coolers off early 2000s silverados plummed inline with each other should be enough to hold what we make with the vortec 350.
We are keeping the vortec heads, bumping the compression up (either by milling the head or different pistons), cam, valvetrain mods, dual plane aluminum intake with 4 barrel edlebrock, and we are going back and forth between 383 stroker kit. It adds cost, but will be a ton of fun on the street. May hand port the heads a little as well, and replace all bearings and gaskets. Engine may need bored due to pitting in the cylinder from water sitting in it. Will have to see how it cleans up and hones out.
So far the farthest I've gotten into it is pulled the heads off. It was pretty ugly, it wouldn't even turn over all the way at first. But i cut up some pieces of carpet from the truck and we scrubbed at the cylinder walls for a bit and it spun free enough. We went ahead and pulled it because we plan on rebuilding the whole thing anyway and this was by far the easiest pull out of all the ones we found.

| So yeah... I was woke up by one of the dogs about 1:30 this morning. One of those nights that I JUST COULD NOT FALL BACK ASLEEP! I laid there basically getting 5-10 minute cat naps. Till 6am when my alarm went off. I felt horrible and exhausted. I sent a message to my boss that I was out sick today. Laid back down and FINALLY fell asleep about 7:30-7:45 this morning sometime. I was just falling into that deep trance to hear my phone going off. Like it does for Amber alerts and such. I picked it up to turn it off to see that it said TORNADO WARNING in my Immediate area! Took me a second to process that. I turned it off to realize I can hear the tornado sirens in the area going off. I'm like WHAT THE!!! I hop out of bed look out the back door. I didn't see anything ominus, so I turned on the TV. I woke up my wife to get back to the EAS message on the TV screen taking about a Tornado headed for the community I live just outside of. I change channels to find Radar of what they are talking about and where exactly it was going. I find out there are SEVERAL circulations the news was covering and one was headed straight for me. Blue Circle is where I live. This image is circulation tracks of the storms. The one headed for me possibly put down 3 different tornados, but luckily nothing real close to my house. Not sure if you can see the interstate 240 icon just up and right of Moore and SE of Oklahoma City. That is where I work. Looks like they had circulations on both sides of them. Needless to say, I am exhausted today. | |

| Yikes, that's bad. I woke up about 7:00 and my phone had an amber alert on it, then under that a tornado warning that had ended 45 minutes prior. I was like, Ok.... | |
