i dont know , since i still have two more tires like the ones on the front of the craftsman and they are free so i might use them. its turning into a monster lifted mower instead of a small machine liked i planned................. i am still considering using a 700 in it as it might be stronger and it has dual outputs which would make it easier to run a jackshaft to take off the strain from the gearbox and the shifter of the foote is really in the way for seat mounting.



Yeah double, i have no idea how i am going to get anywhere on it except a straight line of travel.

i would love to have a single front tire but i have no idea on how to make that work easily . i could get a nice front tire for it but the mounting location would be interesting. i need to talk to my friend and see if he will sell a 26X10X10 v tread mud tire with the knobby tread on the sides mounted in a nice aluminum rim. that would look rad and probably perform well.

i could build something like that, guess it wouldn't be too bad to do. ( i wouldn't buy i as i only have 50 bucks in this machine)

@biggasmowers If you're going to go with one wheel up front, I'd start hunting for a minibike frame or a 3 wheeler frame. I think you want a nice big fat tire up front. Have you thought about going with four wheels and putting a front end from one of your parts tractors up front?

Well I could do a axle and two tire set up , but I would really like a trike and it might need that for better steering and less flipping. ( less front end traction to catch ) and would be pretty cool.

Got some stuff done finally! Re welded some stuff in, cleaned up a bunch of welds, added some bottom reinforcement .

Got even more done tonight . Swapped in the peerless 700 and rigged up a jack shaft .

So I want to do a gear reduction on the jack shaft, the trans is a 8 tooth sprocket and the axle sprocket is 42 tooth . What sprockets on the jack shaft would lower the ratio a bit to slow it down so I can have higher rpms on the belt and pulleys but still a nice slow speed on the axle to be easier on the tranny?

Well I got a 12 tooth sprocket to connect the jack shaft to the axle sprocket, I might put a 24 tooth on the input side of the jackshaft.

I'm pretty sure having another reduction with the jackshaft with help protect the transmission. It's kinda like how hummers have portals. I just so happen to have a top speed calculator which I can modify and work up some numbers for you. I need a few pieces of information though.

1) rear tire diameter, I'd be great if you could wrap a piece of rope or something around it to measure what it really is

2) max engine rpm? 4,000 or maybe 5,000

3) at least your 1st gear ratio and your high gear ratio in your 700

4) your engine and trans pulley sizes

Okay.

Pulleys: 3 inch engine 3.5 inch tranny. Sprockets: tranny ( jackshaft off of tranny(15) jackshaft to axle (12) axle (42) tire circumference (69.5") engine rpms ( up to 7000 or more as it is ungoverend and hits pretty high , but run more around 6000 for hard riding ) tranny gear ratios (1st gear , 7 input rotations to get 1 full rotation. 5th gear: 2 rotations of input to get 1 rotation of output.

You're going to need a wheelie bar for that.

Here is a suggestion. A wheelie bar off of a Renault FT17 tank.



With it in use.....

I was a little worried at first that this thing would be too slow to qualify as a "death trap" lol.  That's not the case because you're topping out around 25-30 mph.  Here's are the two rpm scenarios I ran on my computer.  I'm pretty sure that I have the sprockets right, but would you check?
