Well the engine and tranny are mounted but i am now paused as i need to buy some steel for axle mounting . the engine being in the rear already throws the front end up when i pivot it where i want the axle, so i am going to move it back a bit more that i planned so i have some front end ground contact. I am still not completely sure of what kind of rear tires i will use but aggs and itp mud lites are on the table , i had decided on aggs but the prices are very similar so i would want a better made tire if i am going to already spend 70 bucks per tire . The aggs are 2 ply and the mud lites are 6 and have 3/4" tread verses 5/8" on the aggs.

Got 50 bucks worth of steel and 6010 rod . Hoping to use a quarter of the steel on this project so I can use the rest on other builds. Hope to get some work done this weekend and start enjoying things again.

What size is that? Looks sturdy. I got some 1.25 square tube today myself. Only 4ft worth.

It's 1 inch. Going bigger would have increased my costs by 1/3 or more. It is 1/8" thick so for what I have planned it is very strong.

Got some rear end work done. Just more a skeleton frame that will have reinforcement once i get it where I want it.

Will it have an open diff? If not, you might consider a less of traction in the back so one tire could slide in the back while turning, since the front will be so light.

Great steering isnt the main objective, a light weight front end is for mud applications. It is a solid axle and I might just get it running and borrow mud tires off of the craftsman to see how it handles then decide what tires would work best.

You can buy 16" ags at TSC for $30, that might help with the steering.

It will have 18" minumum. Lol right now it is super lifted with the axle just sitting on the floor without tires on.

got more 6013 so i might get some work done on it today, mabye make my exhaust pipe . I am using a drive shaft off of a f 250 for the stack so it should look pretty neat and sound great

Might want to add a support about halfway up the stack to a bolt on the engine. Maybe one that holds the shroud on. Looks like a lot of weight on those welds and the bolts
