[Complete] Snapp Dragin RER Death Trap [2018 Build-Off Entry]

just a basic front end like a mini bike basically, no suspension and a completely built from scratch front end frame that ties into the main frame I already have.

I was hoping it would have full suspension, but I think that rear suspension is good enough for sure.

Well long time no update, and up until recently (last 4 days) I've finally gotten somewhere on it. All themselves will have to be redone as my machine is giving up what little power it never had and can barely weld 1/8" steel butt joints, let alone trying to get some 90 degree welds with any penetration. So right know I just got the front end locked up and really like the look, rear suspension actually takes up the front movement and should ride well, it does steer some when I just push it around with no weight on it , which I hope means it will turn better once there is a driver on it. Now is the build off timer set for when the build off is completely done or is that till it's closed for posting in the threads? Cause 54 days left seems past the closing time but I have no idea

Thanks Carl! Yeah it's piqued my enthusiasm for it again, took alot of motivation to finally start working on it. Guess it's a redneck atc and the closest thing to one I will ever have lol

I am going to make my own seat, basically a motor cycle seat but wider. Gotta try upholstery some time !

As it is getting down to the wire I figured i should start working on it again. Just re welded all the front end stuff so it's not going to break with me on it, cut off and moved the coilovers top mounting points in order to even out the swing arm. Currently I am working on handle bars and footpegs. It's going to be close but I might make it in the next weeks.

Glad to see you working on this again. Was hoping you'd finish it, it has a good chance I thinkb given its uniqueness.

Handles bars are almost done, made a shifter, chain tensioner, and a few other small things. Hope to get a belt setup going tomorrow and a gas tank, then a few more things until a test drive.

Now has pulleys and belt on, clutch is in the works right now. made a neat front fender last night, turning into a very rat rod machine.

12 days left and its thanksgiving break this next week so lots of progress shall be occurring. almost have my homemade gas tank done, and it looks like I am going to add another jackshaft to fix the chain tension issue.

Well.**** ......time for the oppy again, now in the last 6 days I have to rebuild my spare oppy and install it. I predict some very late nights ahead. Did have it driving, wired up, all cleaned up until this lovely little flathead decided it was done, governor was busted so I was using it ungovenred and it took enough. fun times.

ouch, I liked the way the opposed looked on it better, hope it works out.

Oppy is on, getting welding wire, fuel line, oil, spark plugs, and a few other odds and ends tomorrow, if it all goes to plan I should have it in a qualifying state by Wednesday. Adding the hand throttle and hand clutch once I can weld again. Here's a neat pic I snapped tonight.

Thanks! the inner diameter of the forks was 11.5 inches, and some how the 4 way fit perfectly so I stuck it there.

It's is running and driving, starting, stopping, meets all of the build off requirements but I have to get the correct video to eliminate the belt slippage due to using type B pulleys with a type A belt. Have a short video of it driving just in case the new belt doesn't work but until then I will hold off on posting it if the new belt does fix the slippage issue.

From what I've seen, she's looking great so far. There are a lot of sweet ratty touches like the foot pegs, clutch handle, front fender, etc. Also the Snapper sticker still being visible on the rear portion of the frame is a neat touch as well. Definitely a rat rod trike all the way.
