Yeah, we got just enough to have some fun for a couple hours. The ground could use more though, it's still very dry.

If you fint its getting too dirty too soon, it wouldnt take much to make a big "box" around it that conforms to the underside of the hood. Still plenty of flow and should help keep it cleaner, longer.

I might have to build a similar air cleaner... lol

Yeah I thought about that as well, could even mount it directly to the hood so when I open the hood the box goes up with it. Probably not a bad idea, I'll probably keep that in mind.

Well I think the solenoid died on this ol' girl today. I went to start it and when I turned the key nothing happened at all. If you turn the key to "start" and hold it for about 5 seconds the solenoid clicks once, but thats it. The weird part is if you put the battery charger on the battery it cranks over just fine, even on 2 amp. But it stops working if you turn the charger off. I dont think it's a problem with the battery because its been working great lately. Hmm, I'll put a different solenoid on 'er sometime and if that works I'll just buy a new one.

Nice build, I like that air filter. Double check your ground wire from the battery, I had a similar problem on my huskee and it was just my ground wire where it bolted to the frame had wiggled loose and got rusty.

[22:12:14 05/08/2017] @ mightyraze : yeah check your ground on the batt, and if that is OK, throw a linge between the base of solenoid to the block. unless it is a 4 prong, the ground prong. see what happens.

Thanks! Yeah I should probably check that. I'm not sure if thats the cause or not because it never acted up before, just all of a sudden. But it wouldnt hurt to check haha.

Anytime man. If you can jump start it with positive to battery side of solenoid and ground to your frame or block and it works then its a bad ground. I wish i would have checked that first lol it took me a good hour to think of the ground.

Yeah I'll probably check the solenoid ground and the battery ground next time I'm out at the farm. I've taken the fenders off of the ol' girl so many times its not very hard for me to do it now hahaha

I had the fenders off today trying to diagnose my problem.



The ground cable lugs where a bit lose but the cable wasnt corroded or anything, so I just smacked the ends with a little hammer to tighten them up and put some electrical tape around the exposed ends of the cable.



Everything was fine but I eventually noticed that the cable and lug on the battery side of the positive cable was very corroded. I suspected to be the cause of the problem so I cleaned it up real good, put it all back together and it worked great!

I was also able to check on the undercoating I put on underneath my fenders.





It appears to be in good shape still which is nice to know!

I'm glad I got 'er running again because I needed an easy way to move the steel roofing I needed for the little lean-to thing I was adding to the back of my crappy shed hahaha.

Hell yeah!! Haha, I also had to rip an old railroad tie outta the ground cause it was half buried and it was in the way. It's alot more fun to use a tractor than it is to do it by hand!

Yeah it was nice to be able to use 'er again. More space is always great, hahaha.

Hey all, I think I'm gonna try and start painting the ol' Dominator today. I think... haha we'll see, its been a long time coming. I'm probably just gonna do like the hood and the front end of the frame and bumper. Hopefully it turns out hahaha, stay tuned!

Well I actually got some painting done today! Just my hood and bumper like I planned, but it's a start.



I got the hood off, wire wheeled it, and primed it.







Then I laid down a nice coat of red.



Cleaned up the bumper a bit as well.



And here she is!



Like I said its a start hahaha. I put the fenders in my car to bring them home and paint them as well so they match the hood. I think it turned out pretty nice so far though so I'm excited to see how it looks with the fenders all painted to match. Let me know what ya think!

Looks nice. Is the hood metal? I relay hate my plastic Husqvarna hood and I want to make a custom metal one.

That looks great Allis!  Gonna look like a whole new tractor when you are done!  You know, while the back is off.  Man it would be so easy to pulley swap.  LOL, just yanking your chain.

Thanks mighty, thats the hope anyway hahaha. I cant see a pulley swap being done to this ol' girl any time soon. Maybe a mildly larger engine pulley, but its not really a priority. I wouldnt wanna leave the Jake any further behind than I already do! Hahaha!

I tried priming my fenders last night but I started running out so I couldnt really get the whole thing done properly.



I just got the important spots and tried my best with the rest of it, I'm just gonna go ahead and paint it anyway hahaha. Should be okay.
