Oh don't you guys worry, I'm adding a full angle iron frame under the footboards.

Well, got my bumper sorta back on and my lights mounted! They're not wired up yet because I just wanted to see how they look, and I'm quite pleased. Let me know what you think!

Thanks! I haven't looked into it yet, I'm probably gonna keep working on other things on the list before I swap the 600 in. But I'm still gonna do it! Hahaha.

Bright lights at night are nice!  Here is my project Sasquatch with it's fogs on.

Yeah, a lot nicer than just the factory ones usually.

I dont think iver ever seen a mower with decent stock lighting. I know our '10 YTS3000 lights suck (when they work).

Old Sears Suburbans or those with actual "sealed lights" have decent stock lighting. Not far, but decent.

Well, excluding the ones with real lights lol.

When i rewire my lights i run from the battery. Cant stand lights surging lol

That's what I did with these lights. Way better.

Ok so I didnt work on this thing much at all today like I thought I would, but I went for a nice romp back in the fields and had a hell of a good time! No pictures unfortunately, but next weekend I hope to pull the motor as I have to fix a bad oil leak. Also while the motor's out I'm going to flip the tractor up and do some real good frame bracing and what not. I'll get lots of pictures of that so stay tuned!

Nice! Those frames are pretty weak. Do you ever notice that the hood cannot fit on the dash? That shows you that the frame is flexing.

It used to do that but I think it was the grille not the frame. Earlier in the build, while doing the suspension, I braced the grille and that pretty much fixed it

The peerless 600 is the transmission that has a chain drive down to a live axle right? Thats the one i am thinking of lol

No that's the 700 series transmission. The 600's are old transaxles, like the one in my rat rod.

No, that's the 700 series. 600 is vertical input with an H pattern shift

The 600 is whats in, say, an older square body craftsman GT with cast iron kohler opposed...right?

Naw, the 600's are more of a lawn tractor transaxle, just a little more heavy duty. Vertical shaft 3-speed, I think the transaxles in the Craftsman GT's where horizontal input and had 3-speeds with two ranges.
Either way, they sure didn't put them in 90's MTD's hahaha!
