i'm entering my murray build into the build off First of all, it is getting a complete paint job. i have to custom fab in a first generation craftsman steering system (off of a craftsman 2). Putting in a better clutch system (2 pulleys rather than one). Putting together a solid steel (no tubing) pushbar. Rigging up a flat tow bar (like what a full-size tractor has) for towing. Putting new seals and oil in the peerless 801. Pulley swap. Muffler for exhaust. Battery mounts and brackets. Taillights and driving lights. Brakes. Gas pedal. Carburetor work. Snorkel intake. Snow Plow and mounts. Front and rear weights for towing and snow plowing. Custom mounts for a plow style tiller. Photos

Finally found some time to work on her today, on the weekend my thumb found out why you also pull down on a wrench and never push up, so that put me out of commission as it hurt to much to do much of anything til today. Anyways, Got the motor off. Pulled off pretty much all the brackets i could, couldnt get one transmission bracket off as the threads had stripped on the inside. Apologies for the junk photo, only had my video recorder with me that takes sloppy photos.
Hoping to get some paint this weekend so i can start cleaning some smaller panels and get to some painting done

Got some more time over the past couple days to work on it. Got some painting done, just to test out some different types, i think i'm going to stick with tremclad as thats whats on it now and they turned out great in my opinion.
And today i had some time to pull the trans apart to find some bad news.
The "grease" is a brown green. I knew it had a bad seal, but no gears look destroyed which is a bonus. Missing a shifter ball, hoping its in the case somewhere. Going to get new bearings seals and bushings on the weekend. Hoping i will get it mostly cleaned by then so i can slap it back together on monday. Thats all for now. Will update when the trans is back together.

Flat black, doing flat black on the insides of panels and olive green on the outsides. Was going to paint the outside as well, but the grinder broke mid job (thats what i was cleaning the panels with) so i only did the inside. Going to get some sandpaper on the weekend to finish it and start other panels.

Two months and all that is done is the frame is completely tore down. I need to get my act together.
Anyways, the steering is going to be tackled next, along with with getting the frame prepped for paint. After that, things will be painted and Assembled. And on april 27th, the build series for the murray will start on my channel and will a episode will be uploaded every 2nd wednesday. I am hoping thats what will happen anyway.

Been a while since i posted something so major update. Frame is completely stripped and paintes, along with all body panels. completely reassembled and looking bad***
Anyways, was going to shove an opposed twin i had laying around. Was hoping to not to have to cut the hood, but of course, i would have had to, so im sticking to the original 12 hp I/C which is currently getting the piston cleaned, block is getting painted, and ordered a new headgasket and exhaust gasket to prevent leaks and to keep the motor from getting to hot. Also shaved the eyebrows ever so slightly to improve flow.
Once the gaskets come in the block will be painted, motor will be bolted on then im on the search for pulleys! Hoping to do a 7-4 ratio or a 6-4 since it is going to be used for racing. Not legit insane lawnmower racing, just really ******* fast since im racing rednecks with fourwheeler and motorcycle engines.

So i got the fromt axle flipped, motor is on and running, so im already most of the way lol. Really getting desparate for a peerless 700 so i can get this show on the road, since all i need to do now is get the 700 mounted in and work out the belt system, pulleys, rear axle, front tires, and exhaust. My list is down to fifteen items so things are getting closer every time i wrench on it. Only thing i dont like is the fact i have to give up the old exhaust system since it rubs on the tire. Oh well.

Man that looks good! The only thing is, when you flip the front axle, all the weight of the front of the tractor is on the E-clips. The experts will chime in if this is wrong but that's what I have read.

Now that it is mid october, i have realized i have made very little progress since august. I have multiple projects on the go right now, and im questioning returning it to stock height and locking the 801 which was my original plan, and use it as a heavy duty workhorse. Or possibly sell it. I want to see if i can at least finish it before the contest ends. Prepare for the garage to enter full on panic mode

So, this MAY get reentered next year since i still have a long ways to go if i go with the original game plan (which i probably will) It needs to run and drive as of right now: Steering Brakes Clutch Trans work (its locked but needs seals and bearings) What else im am going to do: Pushbar Tow bar Lift (probably nothing more than 3" front and rear Front suspension Pulley swap What i completed this year: Tore down and painted Wiring Everything fuel related Minor engine work And thats about it as of right now. If its whats considered to be over 50% (in my eyes it isnt) please inform me.
