Gotta love MSTs, hahaha. You actually used to y'know.
Really though pinion bearings can fail in any trans. I knew you'd say that, haha. They were the best I had at the time, nothing to compare them to. I know they can, but I've seen other trans take much, much more without burning out the bearings. The drive ratio of the 110 is 1 turn of the engine equals 3 turns of the trans input. The ratio here was like 5 turns of the engine equal 1 turn of the trans, plus the John Deere is about 30 years older.

| I haven’t had any issues with input bearings in my mst. Only shift keys getting really stiff | |

| Okay well I wasn't trying to beat on MSTs, I was just trying to show this epic fail of a bearing. the thing has like half an inch of play in it, it's almost like the bearing doesn't even exist. | |

| Well, that was an epic save Mighty! Almost went to comparing LT trans to GT trans, or, "apples to oranges" like it always does.
Anyway, I still like my MST's!

| Too much input torque broke the pinion shaft housing from the case. I saw that happen to a friend's tractor once because he kept trying to pull wheel stands with it, haha. | Got some stuff here... Ol' Johnny lost an E-clip and got a little rowdy: This was the wiring in my Ford LGT when I got it, check out the electrical tape job! A friend of mine found this on a tractor he bought, it was the positive cable! This was the bearing plate from the K241 in my Cub 106: Some serious corrosion there. These two I got from GTTalk: Then finally, a good ol' homemade job from Kijiji: "This'll either wake you up or put you to sleep forever!"- Red Green "Whatever you do you should do right, even if it's something wrong." - Hank Hill - MTD Off-Road Build - Ford LT 110 Off-Road Build - Craftsman GT 6000 Off-Road Build - Sears LT11 Rat Rod Build *2019 Build-Off Winner!* Garden Tractor Collection: Allis B-110 x2, 710, 716, & 410 - Wheel Horse 655, 953 & 500 Special - Case 444 - Bolens Versamatic, G10 & 1668 Diesel Swapped - Cub 106, 124 & 1000/149 Frankentractor - Ford 120, LGT 125 & 145 - White 1650 Yard Boss - Moto Mower 710-100 | |

Honda parts are remarkably cheap. I ordered a new OEM U joint, u joint boot, and a couple bushings directly from honda. Only put me out $65. A whole new top end to this engine (cylinder, head, valves, piston, rings, and all the involved gaskets) is only $180 OEM. One good thing I like about Honda 4 wheelers. Their parts are really cheap.
