I have a toro wheel horse that is soon to be my mussing mower, but I'm not sure about the transaxle. If I do a 1:1 pulley ratio and lock the transaxle would it hold up with 23x9.50-12 rear tires the transaxle is a peerless 820-024 it is a 6-speed. I have heard that these transaxles are tough but, I don't know if it would hold up with my tire size. (I plan on getting good tires for off roading)

it should hold up, the tire size you are running is what is used stock with the 820. my mst holds up to a 2:1 ratio and atv tires, so your 820 should be just fine.
