| ive been hunting for a highschool vehical, anything really. Old bronco's, stepsides, el camino's, buick regal, blazers, old pontiacs.... So across town i stumbled upon this. He dropped his asking price drastically, and what i thought was a I6 300 under the hood turned out to be a FE big block 360, c6 tranny, and a 9" with 4.10's. To good to pass up so i bought it Wednesday, towed it home today, no gas lines hooked up. Original rims, and two spare tires Came with this junk (strightpipes, tailgate, drivers side inner fender) Stuff you dont see was in the cab (motorcraft 4 barrel for a 390, side mirrors, rear view mirror, air filter hat, original jack, and junk in the glovebox) Worst of the outside pannels Suicide tank 360 2 barrel Now for the rusty parts, i dont think this truck was undercoated or something (passenger front inner fender Came with replacement fender Swiss! I got what i was looking for. A old old shortbed truck, v8, a project, and stupid simple. I'll just leave on this note. Very happy that i got it.

on a serious note, not a bad first truck. i notice the lack of a tachometer. its not really in too bad of shape for the year, our 99' F250 is in worse shape. hope she treats ya well

| Don't think I've seen any of the old fords with a tach.
I've had a 74, 3/4 ton, 2wd, 460 auto. 77 1/2 ton, 2wd 302 auto 78 3/4 ton, 4wd, 351m, stick 79 3/4 ton, 4wd, ext cab, auto.
All were simple, and for the most part, reliable. But when I drove them, gas was 1.50 a gallon.
I was raised in a 66 f250, 4 speed, 352. Dad drove that truck for 32 years, from 1970 to 2002. Like yours the outside body wasn't bad, but his inner fenders, rockers, floorboards, and bed was shot. Frame finally rusted through, so he retired it.
Looks like a cool project, shouldn't take much to get it running.

| Heh I was raised in a 79 f250, 4x4, 351c, stick, lifted, with some old school 35 mud tires suspension was shot bed was pretty rusty floorpan too but when she got to growling around in a field it was the truck of my dreams but alas she was sold in the mid 90s so I never got to know the satisfaction of slinging mud with her but thats ok :p Ill build my own someday when gas is 5$ a gallon >.> | |

| The offroader will fit in the back maybe with the tailgate down or up I haven't measured yet. I'm locating some cams/lifters/timing chain kit, and gaskets for the engine. Maybe a better 4 barrel for better mileage. | |

Thanks man. It's currently on stands ready to mount crown Vic suspension with the motor and trans pulled. Put a input seal and a tranny filter in last night. Went thru two cans of brake clean because the intake manifold gasket leaks bad and over the years it accumulated 1/2 of sludge all around the trans, so that was fun.

Not much done, i guess im still researching parts for it. My dad is swamped with work and i need some steel from a steal yard but its only open during the week, so it will be a while till i can get that. I think imma pull the cab and put floorpans and cab mounts in. Messaged a guy about a bed thats not half bad so i might grab that, and make one bed out of two. Mine is quite rusty and has a swipe in the passenger side

| You should see if they make aftermarket lamps for it with LEDs in em. That would look cool. Or make covers and mount 6" LED ovals. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures
