| Yeah I've done it before, you take the center off of another pulley weld it to some heavy duty pipe or a shaft along with a pillow bearing up top then you mount the pulley on top | |

| I have not done this. If I was GOING to, it would resemble this- *remove pulley from transaxle *install 5/8" Lovejoy or other design flexible shaft coupler, or even a U-joint. *install length of 5/8" keyed shaft into upper half of coupler. *install two pillow block or flange mount bearings onto shaft, and brace, structurally. *install pulley on extension shaft
NOTE: the purpose of the coupler or U-joint is to take up minor misalignments, vibrations, shaft, and chassis flex- without breaking or bending the extension shaft or causing transaxle damage. | |
