X2 Also I don't think it's completely neccessary to start a new thread everytime you have a question... If you have a lot of questions, you can ask them all in just one thread or better yet, do a bit of searching and try and find some answers for yourself. There's a lot of knowledge out there. | Not trying to avoid the question, as this isn't something most of us are looking to do. If you have facebook, look up Sprockets Garage. Most of those that use to be here are there now. Shoot them the question too. May get a faster response.
I know for me personally since I am a bigger guy, to do so, I would have to leave the trans Unlocked and do a one wheel peel. If you have smaller slicks and you are a light kid. You may be able to get away with a 1:1 ratio with an MST or peerless 820 if you rev it high and lean forward. But doubtful. I know there is a video of a dude doing asphalt donuts going around Facebook. Judging by his speed in that video, I'm guessing a much smaller pulley on the rear. But like I said, finding the key ingredients for your/tractor weight, tire grip, horsepower to spin the tires FAST, and not get belt slip I am not sure is an exact science.

| If horizontal absolutely. I would check out carsandcamera's on youtube for some ideas on doing that. They do a lot of carting stuff and even a tractor once. If a vertical engine.... that would be a whole other animal as chain does not like to run sideways. | |

| That would make it awfully difficult to stop or change gears....
You would need a cen. clutch for sure. | You'd need some serious HP to burn the back tires with a lawn tractor. If you just wanna see em smoke you could get them to spin on pavement by hooking the back of the tractor to something solid (low on the tractor so you don't flip over backwards). You'd probably get a little smoke after awhile but I don't know how much fun it would be.
Smaller diameter tires would spin easier. With big tires, I would think there's a big risk of flipping over backwards, even with some serious HP like a motorcycle engine. I think I saw the video you guys are talking about too, that's too risky for my taste lol.
As for gearing, no idea. I guess that depends on how fast you want to spin them and how much power is available. More fun to get a junk front wheel drive car and then spin them by slowly pulling up against a stone wall/another junk car, or something that isn't gonna move and then flooring it. Then you'll get some serious smoke...

| My smart answer is any pulley ratio will make the tires spin on asphalt as when you’re moving the tires are “spinning” but If I know what video you are referring to on Facebook the ground was wet in that video, makes it a lot easier to do donuts and “drift”. my old racing mower would do donuts on dry pavement but it wouldn’t do a burnout. I was a light kid and with a vtwin and 16 inch tires it would do it. Their is no pulley ratio that will make you do donuts and drift on pavement some people get lucky with there set ups and others fail, my best advice is to start experimenting, make your tires rock hard and best of luck | |

| Don't worry, I'm no good with wiring either. Too much for my brain to handle unless it's really simple. A few lights I can rig up though.
Most of the safety switches just ground the ignition coil or to shut the engine off.
