thanks thunder and richie too... I've been down to the garage and i finally have my idea for my final design. I'll be posting up pics later tonight but I've done a 215mm stretch and re-enforced my chassis 10 fold. it's still gonna be a racer but rather than using my 5.5hp I'm going to go big or go home... 18hp oppy and I'm gonna work the living s**t out of it. and advice or ideas would be welcome too

It should be pretty quick the frame at the moment wieghs about 20-30kgs roughly. i just hope it doesnt wheel stand on me like crazy lol.

For future reference, put [img] before your picture, and [/ img] after it (without the space between / and i).

That is the image code to make the pics show up instead of a link. I'm assuming Doug had to go in and edit them to get the pics to show correctly.the correct way to insert an image is

[img] the url of your picture then the bracket forward slash img bracket

that usually gets the pic's showing

Its simpler everything goes by 10s instead of having to convert ***** with decimals and all that crazyness makes a machinists life so much easier

My JD is not metric.

And yeah that's why ya guys are moving over slowly but surely to metric. - If i ask some of you if ya think 11/36th is thick enough for this and that, You don't even know how thick that is, cause you have to whip out a calculator first. If I say would a 10mm plate be thick enough. You know instantly that it is ten times thicker than 1mm

yeah, I guess you are right. I just hate it when you have to stop and go get different wrenches cause it is 12 mm not 1/2 or 7/16
