| New here jw what the forum thinks is a decent starter mower to build a monster mower? ive got a wheel horse gt2500 and sears ss16 but both are kinda sentimental so I may get another mower slightly newer. | |

| The 1500 HD, is the 2500 LD frame and body. They didn't have a frame in the 1500 line that would take a crew cab, and 6.5 foot bed, in those years. So they called the 3/4 ton 2500 a 1500, so they could say they offered a 1/2 ton crew cab. Later years they shortened the bed even more so it would fit behind a crew cab on a 1500 frame.
Notice all 1500 hd's are crew cab trucks?
2500 HD gets bigger frame, full floating hubs in the rear, etc...
HD is heavy duty, LD light duty. They still make a LD 2500. | |
