| Are the belts actually rubbing? It does not look like it.
If they are, an idler or tensioner would work... just make sure you aren't causing it to rub elsewhere in the process. | |

| yeah there not rubbing together but its rubbing on shift barrel coming from the transaxle. should the idler pulley be on the clutch side or on the other side? | |

| If it's not messing up your belts, I wouldn't worry too much about it. And the idler can be on either side, just put it in a place to deflect the belt enough to avoid rubbing. | |

| If its rubbing one something just add in another idler pulley to move the belt away from whatever its rubbing on. Your clutch looks like its on the right side but I think I see where you say its rubbing. Just add in a V idler on the side thats rubbing, but not so much that you need a new belt, just enough so that when you let off it doesnt rub. | Hey I have a murray and I did a 4inch pulley swap on the transaxle. from underneeth it looks identical to yours and I have the same rubbing issue. I've been riding it like that for a while and i havn't had any problems, tell me what you do to stop the rubbing. | |

| the easiest way to get rid of the rub since you shrank the pulleys, is... get bigger ones. So like, if you run a 4" front and rear, go to a 6" front and rear. Same ratio, different curve. Will also help with any belt slippage you may be experiencing too |

| Thanks for the advice ill look into that . But I'm running a 7or 6 inch on the engine not too sure ,and a 3 or 2 inch on the transaxle is that a good ratio or should I make the transaxle pulley larger
