| I just got three front lawn mower rims from the dump They are filled with grease, and are dirty. Can I flush them out with water? Or will this prohibit them from working further? One of my mowers did not come with grease fittings, so I plan on using these. Thanks D | |

| Water isnt very effective on grease. Try a degreaser or solvent. | |

diesel won't evaporate like gas not as volatile and can filtered to be used over and over...

Kerosene works well, but ('round here anyway) can be pretty expensive. Since kerosene and diesel are VERY close in composition, you my save a bit using diesel.

| Try regular charcoal lighter fluid or mineral spirits. It's the same stuff. I worked maintenance at a plant that made charcoal briquets and that is all we used for a degreaser. It's my first choice when I need toclean parts up. | |

| Thanks, I see that the rim will still be able to work. I will give a few suggestions a try. | |
