| Earlier today I purchased an early 80's craftsman/sears tractor with an 11HP engine (I'll try to post pictures later) and it had been sitting for 2 years (under a cover thankfully). While I was looking it over I noticed the steering was jammed but I bought it anywhy for the cheap price of $150 because it was all there. Now I have it home and I can't seem to find an easy quick way of knocking it loose. I just want to get it going as it is stock first before setting it up for mudding. Any suggestions? | |

| Where is it stuck? Frozen ball joints, frozen tie rods, frozen steering gear, frozen spindles, rubbing, what? Your info was a little too generic. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| The spindle on the right side is frozen but everything else seems to be free. | |

| If the spindle is frozen up, try tapping it out with a hammer after moving the retaining pin/ clip. Then lube the hell out of it, grese wil be a little more long term but gear oil will work too. Then just work it back and forth.
Might need new bushings. I bet it has metal ones. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| like I said very odd size, I've been looking into this tractor and as it turns out it is a rare model, didn't even make it for a year. it is after they started outting in plastic tanks but before the went to plastic headlights. I just can't believe I got her to fire up after so long without doing anything to it. | |
