| i had thought of doing that, however, the carb that is on it doesn't have seperate controls for the choke and throttle, so i want one that does, and i just dont want the ugly tank there lol | |

| Yup- 5hp Briggs horizontal, 1993 model year.
Can you not seperate the throttle from the choke?
Personally, I hate the Briggs pulsejet carb-on-tank arrangement. If I were you, I'd probably grab an old pre-EPA Tecumseh Series 1 carb off an H40, H50, or H60. Pretty common, and fully adjustable including the main jet. Makes dialling it in for a new engine pretty painless.
My second choice would be a carb off a Honda GX160 or GX200 and build a manifold to adapt it. A chinese clone carb for these engines is common as mud, cheap, and easy to get parts for.
Keep in mind that if you go to a non-factory carb, you will lose governor function. IMHO, you're then obliged to open up the engine and remove the governor guts. No big deal, really.
EDIT- I just noticed my user title... Funny as hell... LOL

Depends- If the engine it came off was similarly sized (within a couple of hp), it's a good start. You may have to buy or build a manifold to adapt it. You quite likely will have to rejet.

| Odds are good that the carb off the 12hp won't work. The venturi is likely too large, which causes a loss of intake velocity and will not draw enough fuel. | |

I've got a small century welder, and another old small welder, both will take 10 pound spools.
