| how do i get water out of my transaxle? do i have to take it all the way apart? or is there some way i can do it with out taking it all apart? thanks for all your help | |

| I would strongly recommend taking it apart... there isn't any way to be sure you got it all out if you don't. | |

| when you put it together, tighten all the bolts to the right torque and put good gasket maker on it | |

| Before you take it apart I recommend you watch FearlessFront's video on YouTube on how to lock a transaxle. You don't need to lock it if you don't want too, but it has pointers on how to take apart and put back together a transaxle. | |

| Yep- tear it down. Sounds like a great time for some maintenance, too. Clean all the old grease out of there and regrease everything. No not use solvent to clean the bronze bushings, just a rag. If you have a few bucks to spare, new bushings would be a great idea. If it's a Peerless, inspect the shift keys while you're there, and as a general statement, inspect all parts.
When disassembling, don't leave the pulley on and get all Rambo trying to force the case halves apart. Quite often, there's a bolt hiding under it. | |
