| if i dont lock it what will be the down side to mudding and drifting? | |

| Not sure about mudding/drifting, but it will not be anywhere near as effective in the woods in general. | |

| In my opinion:
I recommend it locked for muddin, you'd want both tires working together.
Not for drifting though, one wheel peel will allow you more control.
