Been doing a lot of spool gun aluminum welding at school recently. Pretty cool, I'm the only one that bothers with it. Everyone else just sticks with normal mig. I'm good at MIG, FCAW, and Spoolgun aluminum welding now.

Supposedly the Vulcan spoolguns are going to be compatible with most Lincoln and Miller welders. May have to get one.

I dont, yet. Was waiting for my 10lb flux spool to die down, so I actually finally ordered one. I added a kit to my watch list over 2 years ago when I first got my Lincoln. Checked it a little while ago and sure enough it was the last one so I got it.

Guess I cant be lazy anymore and will have to prep my weld area better.

MIG isn't so bad about prep like this aluminum is. Gotta remember though, if there's porosity under the weld, then it's gonna be in the weld, for a few passes. Also now you can push your welds and sme other stuff, pretty handy in some situations lol

Ive welded GMAW, just not in a while. Just cant plow through paint and powdercoat as well as FCAW.
