| Where are you working at Rich? Like at home you mean?
I was welding up a storm yesterday, had to do a bit of repair on a bale feeder and a bunch of repair on a gravity wagon for my Papa. Good times hahaha. | Welding... I welded some patches into a truck frame. Started with 6013s. Seemed alright... except for I havnt welded verticle or overhead for years. But I guess it will hold... next got 6011. Man. Its like 2 different people did the welding. Set down some pretty nice welds with the 6013... 6011 on the other hand. Chicken. Poop. So embarrassing.

| Yeah overhead and straight up and down stuff sucks cause it always turns out drippy looking. But I've kinda gotten better at it so sometimes I get a nice swirly bead. | It wasnt just overhead and verticle, the flat welds looked like crap too... Back when I was doing more vertical and overhead welds, I did pretty well. 1 of 2 who got d1.1 certs for all positions.
Running the 6013 overhead, while not the best Ive done were alright.

| I was working for a dude down the road.
I like 5/32" 7014. Crank the amps up to 105, sometimes more, and it makes some nice welds. Haven't done much vertical or overhead though, I usually shift whatever I'm welding so I can do horizontal.

| I try to do that as much as possible too. But sometimes you can't, like with a gravity wagon hahaha. It is much nicer when you can though! | I do pretty good upside down, when I am standing up. If I'm laying it just drips and spatters. The worst, it is, the worst, when I'm laying that is, LOL. | |

| I hate overhead because I have a flux core...
All the spatter just loves to make it into my helmet and down my sleeves.
Only experience I have is patching exhaust while laying under my car. Everything else I shift

| Dad has a Lincoln ProMig or something like that. 75/25 CO2/Argon welds nice. Don't think the gas is too expensive once you have a bottle. | |

| The conversion only has 1 reg. Dont wanna get too too fancy for how little I use it and how much it costs to get set up. The kit is like $190, probably the same for a filled Argon from AirGas. | I was doing an oil spray on my car at the shop today when I spotted some rot on my sub-frame: That's not so good. But some cutting and welding and we're good to go again! Not too bad! The terrible looking welds on the right are mine, guess I'm pretty rusty with the MIG. | Hopefully! The rest of the chassis is in great shape so it'd be a shame to let the sub-frame rot away.
