Thanks, it's getting there. Got the steering shaft lengthened today, extended about 2-3inches, just cut and welded on a bolt. That way i also got the threads for "free".

Nah I dont wanna mount it the normal way. Takes to much room like that. I'm going to try mount it Formula 1 style. Like this. In the + there will sit a ball raced hub. So need to waterjet cut this now for test, just hope it works.

- boy that seems like alot of complicated geometry to get wrong with a suspension like that. Good luck with that.
It's not that complicated. Its very well used in Formula 1, cause of low design and you can tuck away the actual shock. It's strange its not adapted for more cars, quads and so on. But it's even less space on mine since the angles are so sharp.

| I'm guessing your using this style shock system for space issues? Looks like you have plenty of room for a conventional shock tower, unless you are trying to keep everything under the hood.
On the steering, is the front bearing on the steering shaft getting some bracing? I don't have a good picture in my head of how you are hooking the steering to the spindles, but the front shaft brace looks weak.
I love the engineering and water jetting, makes for a clean setup.

Ya, but also I need the tank to be above the shocks, also I need to find room for the battery. - Stretch44875 wrote:

I love the engineering and water jetting, makes for a clean setup. And I see what you mean, but the front steering shaft is getting its strenght from the rear brace. The only way it will move as a standalone is back and forth, when the steering shaft is inserted and tightened with the rear brace, it will be locked. - If it dont work as planned i will add an angular pcs. But then I will add weight, so fingers crossed, and thanks for the inputs.

| Got the exhaust finnish'ed, but not tested. Also I almost didnt get it to fit after I welded those pipes from the engine lol. I Tig welded the pipes from the motor, then I remembered how nice it welds. This was w/o filler material, also I remembered how friggin hot it gets. I kinda regret that i tacked it with the mig (those lumps), if not it would be perfect, but who cares right. Wrapping an opposed flat head is the best thing you can do to it I guess, keep the exhaust REAL HOT! | |

I want a flux core welder so bad. And my welds was fair I would say, Haven't welded with Tig in ages. And there was 3 seams in those pipes. And Ive started designing the gear shifter plate and chain guards in CAD now , but photobucket phone app. wont work atm.

| I ordered this, I might go the easy way out on the front suspension at this point in time. - then change it later, since I really wanna drive it before winter comes... Will look like a mini car, or a big RC Car with these shocks:P Also ordered this, A Motorcycle Steering dampener. And this, once I get a shipping quote, Also enquired about Billet parts from Eccaburetors.com - but they don't normally ship to Norway. Hope they will, if not it might take 3months to get the parts. | |
