| Had the idea to use rivets when patching the gear shifter hole, so now I will probably use more rivets in the build as a part of the theme. Was a lotta work tho Also got the CVT by COMET in the mail today, looks massive and is massive. Can you say Tight fit! Thats 9-7/8" Driven Unit by Comet, Made in the USA. The Jackshaft, Just imagine the CVT is flipped around. Also Sketching/ drawing up the dash layout. Soooo alot to do | |

| I just caught up to this thread. I must say- it's coming along beautifully, and you're doing a fantastic job!
I'm pleased to see that you're going to try the combination of a CVT and gearbox. I have a similar plan that I want to try, and am eager to see how yours goes. I like the idea that it will clutch automatically for you, but they key key point here is that it gives to a range for each gear selection.
Now- I did read a previous comment about the CVT and gearbox being a belt-killer, but- In my opinion, you're not going to be shifting on the fly anyway. That's the big benefit to the CVT- there's no need. Pick your gear and go! Plus, the way a CVT works, you'd lose enough momentum so as to totally screw up the CVT's automatic range selection.
The only thing different between your plan and mine is that you are coupling the CVT to an 820 transaxle (nice unit!!!), while I plan on using a 700 transmission and live axle.

Yeah that was from T man i think, but that gotta be an allready to weak CVT. A CVTech and those Comets are made to shift up and down all the time, so i think we should be ok. Time will show
