Building a lifted mower should i lock the front end so it dont pivot or leave it alone?

Personally I would lock the front end, the tractor would be quite unstable if you leave it.
I guess if you really wanted to you could weld a couple of brackets to the frame and axle and put stiff shocks between the 2. You would still have the axle movement but would stiffen the whole front end up. It may still be a little unstable but better than having no shocks.

We leave our machines with the front axle able to pivot, but we put in stops to reduce the travel. Pivot is nice for some offroading, and we don't seem to have too much trouble with it when racing either. To each their own Wink
