| My brother drove 2 1/2 hours away to buy a 1998 Dodge 2500 12V Cummins Diesel with 560KM on the body, 170KM on the seconds 12V Cummins, 150KM on the Drive train(a 3500 Drive Train), a 4/12" Lift with 38" Tires, A Really Nice Truck. Its got alot done to it and this is my brothers 4th vehicle since he got his license Last September. Hes Gained Money on all of them(a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L(Bought for $2,200, sold for $2,600), 2001 Ford Ranger 2.5L(Bought for $2,600, sold for $3,500), 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 2WD 5.9L Cummins(Bought for $3,500, sold for $5,500), and finally his 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD 5.9L Cummins(Bought for $11,000). Heres some pictures of the Truck. The guy he bought it from gave him the old Cummins for Parts, everything good other than the head is cracked. Hopefully it will have atleast 1,000,000KM on the body when its ready for scrap. | |

| Shouldn't need much off the old engine, unless it still has the injection pump on it. I would save that and the water pump, and maybe the lift pump if it is mechanical. The injectors also would be something to keep. The block could be rebuilt later if needed, but you would need to find a head because if you need the block as a replacement later, the head on the new engine will probably be cracked too. These are a good engine if taken care of. | |

| Its a Nice truck, Yeah my brother plans on rebuilding the engine just for fun since we've never rebuilt a diesel before, but it has the injector pump, etc. still on it and thats why the guy gave it to him, its mechanical injection so its easier to play with and its straight piped with an 8" tip, sounds mean and you can tell the guy turned up the injectors because it rolls some coal when you put you foot down. | |

My brothers is a 4 1/2" lift with 38" Michelin X military tires, they are worn down(still pass a safety) but they are re-groovable. It has a Sony head unit with a 10" kenwood sub and amp(not sure of the watts). It has a small CB radio because the previous owner was a logger. I love the truck but I'm trying to convince my brother into building bumpers.

Yeah I wish it was in my name:P The insurance company wants an inspection on the truck to verify there are no modifications, luckily he works at the garage so his boss will say there aren't any, it surely doesn't look like there aren't:P

- Why do they look for mods?
Because they don't like that, its a distraction, etc. more likely to cause your or someone else crash, higher chances for tickets(if you do engine mods). Some insurance companies won't insure you if you have an over sized tire(bigger then stock Tire size), most aren't to picky, its just when you put 48's on a truck that comes stock with 31's. I know thats something in Ontario thats annoying. My brothers boss does the inspections for the insurance company and his boss will tell them its stock.
