| We built a 4x4 tractor out of a john deere 420. It had a front loader on it. The easiest way to do it is to use a hydraulic driven front end. Run a hydraulic pump off of the PTO. We could pick up over 500 lbs easily and the front end would always turn with plenty of power. | |

- Do you have to use the stock transaxle with those U-Joints and inner/outer knuckles, or can you mount them to a diffrent transaxle? Anybody? And in my opinion if you drive the tractor in anything other than mudd or loose dirt I wouldnt weld the front axle. Would make it a PIA to turn.
You could potentially use a different transaxle with the outer knuckles, but you would need the splined axles from the original and the steering mechanism would have to be "re-engineered", because it mounts through a hole in the back of the transaxle. Non-steering transaxles don't have this hole. I've been thinking about this because I may want to use two hydro transaxles instead of the gears. I have not done much more than take apart the transaxles on my project, so there's no threads. I likely won't get moving on it until the end of the year. So busy right now... | |

| He's spinning the pulley counterclockwise (looking down at it). It will operate normally; 6 forward, 1 reverse. | |
