| Here's my list! My first truck dad gave me when I was 16, he bought it new. 86 F-150 4x4 My 87 Chevy I bought after the 86 Ford finally wasn't worth fixing. Although I kept the Ford for parts and am still using stuff from it to this day. My 84 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 I got after the Chev. The Chev was nothing but trouble despite being in good shape. Engine, transmission and wiring were not great. This Ford was my favorite truck, drove it for about 4 years, still have it and am trying to fix it up again , I miss it alot. It has a 351W 4BBL Holley on a Weiand dome, Edelbrock valve covers and air filter, Accel wires and coil, dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs. Was a sweet truck. My 90 Celica I bought for nearly nothing, fixed up, drove and sold for a good profit. My 90 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4 I got for 700$ with an identical parts truck. Drove for a couple years and sold it for more than I paid for it! Got tons of parts out of the deal! My 84 Celica GT, have been driving for over 4 years, done way too much work on it since it's old. Trying to keep it in good shape, parts are a little hard to find tho. It's a one-of-a-kind car where I live. I love it. My 88 F-250 I just finished this spring, took a year and a half to build up. Got it as a rolling chassis, not running, missing brakes, no box, bad tranny, no bumpers, no wheels, busted windshield, few interior parts, missing wiring, no door hardware, pretty bare anyway. All it had good was all new body panels and paint (hood, doors, fenders, rad support, front valance, changed cab) I spent a few thousand on it to get it road-legal and solid. I got alot of parts new and alot from my parts trucks. It's got a 3" body lift, hedman headers and 3" pipe, LSD rear, PTO on the 5-spd ZF tranny, XLT Interior, tow hooks all around to to AND be towed (used for both so far lol) Couple pics of the build. Frame is solid, had to change most of the hangers and shock brackets, couple leafs and stuff like that. Put complete new brake system in, nearly 1000$ for that alone. She gets wheeled alot!! Love this machine, does well for nearly stock setup. Removed rear sway bar for drastic improvement in flex, going to remove aux. springs as well, hopefully get some more flex yet. Needs new clutches in rear end someday, and a few nick nacks here n' there. Ok I'm rambling on trying to show off, lol. | |

| Love that last Ford! Really nice looking truck. Those are some huge ass exhausts. If anyonee's interested, here's the car I should be getting next week. http://glasgow.gumtree.com/glasgow/98/64541998.html1.4 16v. 100bhp, 128ft/lbs tq. Fully spec'd everything, and one hell of a price. These usually go for about £5000 | |

| Id offer less then that with a bad transmission Chunk - you can rake up some serious cash fixing just that alone.
My family has owned a ton of different cars and trucks - dad had a 50's ford when he was in school, bot a 65 fairlane when folks got married , had a 73 buick lesabre, 74 ford F100 ( beast of a truck!) , 79 f150 supercab, 88f250 , 89 crown vic ( police cruiser) 2 - 85 crown vics , 78 LTDII , 79 olds ( POS) , 78 t bird ( rusted out POS- bumpers fell off after a month)- i had a 75LTD ( loved that car) that was my moms then was my 1st car.
Pop and mom now have a 94 crown vic( i call it the pimp mobile- is a light blueish/silver, fake convertible top - if it had wire rims it would be) that mom drives , dad has a 87 F250 supercab ( rusty but runs solid with a 460 carbed motor) and a 97 F250 supercab also with a 460 EFI ( nice shape) and they also have a 89 ford ( van chassis) camper , also with a 460 motor.
Here at my house my wife drives a 2007 kia rondo ( i call it 'the amazing rondoooo' ) and i have the 99 f150- lil rusty but still runs good - heck gets 23mpg still. After the rondo is paid off we might trade my truck for a new kia sportage ( id get the amazing rondoooo) - course id have to bump up the stereo n n subs n stuff....maybe find some larger rims....

| £1500 alone is a steal for that car with that spec. Those usually for for £4-5000. Gearbox should be £300 at the most, then its just a case of spending a weekend swapping them. Gotta love FWD eh? | |

| Ropertractor14: Yepper - 4.2 V6 and 4 speed manual with OD - still kick myself for not getting a small block V8 sometimes and super cab - was out of my price range tho.
Found out the milage when we went to see the folks - nearly 3,000 mile trip - figured it out to averaging 23 mpg- not bad for a loaded truck and running a/c thru the mountains. i suppose itd get slightly better ( or worse) if i didnt have the 500 lb fibreglass cap on it.
Heck around home i can run nearly a month w/o having to fill it up.
Chunk - hopefully its pretty cheep to fix it- the swapping might be more trouble- if you need to pull the motor to get to it.
Ive been watching this show on HD tv called 'wheeler dealers' - guy buys these different cars pretty cheep, fixes them and turns around and sells them- its a neat show- its weird hearing him say " Only spent 2000 dollars on it " then says something about quids and pounds.....

| TRcustomengineering719: Yeah that thing will average 42.mpg. Could probably get 50 if it was driven carefully. Doubt i'll ever drive it that caerfully, but its nice to know I can if I needed to Dangeroustoys: Sounds interesting. I was thinking it might be easier to pull the engine and gearbox out in a one-er. Then just swap the gearbox over, top up with whatever fluids it needs, maybe even give it a nice clean, as like my other Polo, It'll be put into car shows too. Then just whack it back in. That's the plan anyway | |

| Chunk: Im not sure how its put together- if the motor /trans at the factory was put in from underneath ( like a bolt in carriage with the motor /trans on it then its bolted to the chassis) - im not sure how high it could be lifted w/o a hydraulic lift in order to pull it out from underneath - then youd have to get new bolts and torque em as well ( dont want the motor falling out - happened to my friends pontiac grand am - whole thing plopped out on the road when 3 of the 4 bolts broke).
Might be easier to yank the motor/trans from above, then you can clean and paint in the engine bay to detail it, maybe even paint the motor. Take pics and label everything tho before pulling it.

| It seems in nice shape. Not familiar with them, sort of cool though.
And anyway, first car's are supposed to be cheap and affordable (unless you;re loaded) Im only just able to afford to insure a bigger car now after a year of driving
