It is interesting, but it seems to drag down the loading of the forum pages. On my iPad, it displays the photo then the page on top of it. Something has changed?

Nothing has changed, but something to be aware. The host is in France. I see from time to time (servimg) the image host for the host does have slowdowns that I do see from time to time. I have seen them a couple times this week. I also wonder if server backups (after hours for the host) are prime time for us.
I'll monitor.

I wonder if you could remove the background photo and see if that changes anything? It seems that the background photo is the culprit from what I can see.

Performance was a D by their site. 65% Page size was 7.2 MB Load time was 4.26 Seconds w/ 316 page requests. (not sure how to lower this)
Without the background and javaheader turned off.
Performance was still a D at 65% Page size was 6.4MB (reduction of 700K) Load time was 4.16 Seconds. Only 0.1 second faster w/ 316 page requests still.
With or without the background, the difference is microscopic.
I'll leave the Wallpaper off for now.

2 things jump out at me. Depending on where you are located, the speed could be all over the place. Another thing that gets me is why the page size is different from site to site. Granted, this is as a guest so there are ads.

I have Starlink internet and it is VERY fast. The page loads almost instantly now. Thanks for the test. I loaded several forum pages and they all ‘pop’ now.
Except… more testing shows oddities still. This is no big deal, but very strange for a forum, IMO. Not sure what is going on.
Loading a page produces four distinct events:
1. The page header appears 2. The page contents appear 3. The page jumps down (maybe to the last read post?) And, if the page is long, 4. The page jumps to the most recent post.
Again, no biggie, just unusual.

Works about the same as always on my end also. I'm not saying this is necessarily what's going on but I was reading an article the other day that was talking about how scientists have found a way to utilize the undersea fiber optic internet cables to detect seismic events under the seas/oceans but to better pinpoint actual locations they need to install more modules along the line.
Level 3 Internet outage today If you hear about a Level 3 Internet outage today and haven’t heard this company mentioned before, then you might be wondering how problems involving the Level3 network could take down your access to Yahoo Mail, PSN, Xbox Live, Outlook, BT, Twitch, HBO Go, Craigslist, and other networks/services. Level 3 Communications is based in America and is now operating under the name CenturyLink. It provides Internet service via their Tier 1 network to Internet carriers in Europe, Asia, and North America. This is why we have seen problems with a range of services in the UK, Germany, and United States that all user the Level3 network.
