OK, the Green Machine looks to get a new lease on life for this winter and next year's project. I have some pretty extravagant plans, but need a little help.
Green Machine's engine plate has long been modified and parts missing for years from it's "STOCK" days. I am looking for a picture of that pulley carrier that would take the backwards facing Briggs or Kohler engine down and through 2 pulleys bend the belt for the transaxle. I know that part was scrapped/repurposed at least 7-8 years now. Back in my Sasquatch 1 days.
What I am looking for is a clear picture of this pulley set in the picture below. I will need to fabricate it I think. Unless I can find one for sale online. Not really sure what it is called at the moment.
Also, if I remember right, (Top side engine pulley) the frameside (Flat?) pulley was clutch and (bottom side engine pulley) the inward (V?) pulley went to the transaxle. The pulleys for the V and Flat bend were not parallel I don't think. I think the V was slanted over more at the top.

Reviewing the Build-off rules, I would consider TGM over the 50% mark to enter it next year. I'll probably start what I got in Nov-Dec sometime. Just an engine swap, driveline update, Kal's wheels. Oh and a fuel line update as well as wiring. I may cast a vote of my peers so I would not enter just for being an Admin. That would be a detailed vote of what I have planned. Right now I'm not sure there is more than 50% work, but then I think of what I need to do... maybe there is?
I'll play it fair when time comes, then I will hold off till Jan 1.

Decided I am going to go ahead with a mild budget refresh over the next month or so. Going to get some fresh paint as well. The damaged paint from the superclean leak has come back through the touch-up paint. TGM is going to sport some new color and skin. Oranges are headed out..
Stripping it back down to clean and repaint the frame back to black. Front axle will be black again as well. Still debating on the silver brake, hi/lo and gear shifter. It may bo back black as well.
Hate to loose the stickers on the tractor, but getting new is easy enough.
Oh, and there is a black widow spider nest there at the back of the tractor above the transaxle.

Not slow yet... It's to the point of driving again. I'll have the nose on sometime this week.
Many changes from here on out. Nose gets repainted, and I am going to think about a new winch and bumper set-up in the front. No purchases for anything until next year at the earliest due to temporary furloughs. Have to crack down on spending for a little while. I am still going to change the fronts, the Duro's on the rear are growing on me.
Thinking of the tires @RichieRichOverdrive put on his Custom, like I had on the front when I redid Patriot into TGM, or going bighorn style all around like Marshal.

OK, this is where things get shut down a bit and I need to start planning and working new front bumper and winch mount. May take some queues from Marshal, but don't need a drop down bumper.

Got the Green Machine out today. Seems to run ok still. About 2800 rpm it does start to break up. Not sure if it is a sticky valve or the carb high speed jet clogged? I'll be taking it off to clean it next week sometime. I may pull a carb off a spare engine out in the shed and give that a go. This has been an issue off and on for a while.

Cleaned the carb today. Seemed fine. Fired it up, still breaking up and now surging but not bad. (could be dislodged debris or a bad fuel filter)
Went to rev it a little, just as I went to rev, the engine did full stop quickly like it had a band brake around the flywheel. As it came to a quick stop, it had a quick puking of gas out the carb (no backfire) then the dreaded smoke like it had a blown head gasket. (which is new) I did get it started back up, ran poorly and had a faint top end clatter now. It was also hard to start. I'm wondering if I dropped a valve? (Valve clip come off?)

Something catastrophic must've happened for it to stop like that. I had the whole bottom end (crank output cover) come loose on one of those oppys and it ran fine.

Yeah, I don't quite get it. I plan on pulling the engine this weekend and look inside. If I have to, I'll scab some parts together and get a runner again.

Does it turn easy by hand or is it tight or draggy?
Before today, it was easy to turn by hand. Right now, I cannot turn it by hand at all.
