Not able to put the return spring from the throttle directly to the heatshield by drilling a small hole? Your eyelet could still be in play if you put it on the spring before the spring on the throttle linkage, can't (well shouldn't) pop off then especially if you put a stop on the end of the spring
That's pretty much what I did. Yeah, I said I would step away and give it a rest, but I couldn't sleep with thoughts in my head. Foot throttle is now connected.
I kept it simple... Created a spring mount on the heat shield.
Drilled one new hole about 3/4 inch center to center higher.
Now it is the exact same travel as the governor arm itself. No need for a stopper as the floorboard will stop but, the extension doesn't go any further.
Petal is high enough to rest my foot under while cruzing with the dash throttle. Not too high to mash it when needed. Also not too much in the way to get tangled up on.
All that is left is zip tie the cable so it does not get tangled in the frame.
This is my next item up for work. I will let this one go till Friday or Saturday.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one guilty of using grade 8 bolts on literally everything! Looking good as usual! Should be one stout rig!
HAHA.... yeah I use them on everything. I got my 3/8ths, 5/16's, 1/4's... I try to keep them in stock!.
I actually have a pic of the last time I was adding to my stock.
I go through a lot of 1/4 stock.
I was sweeping up the floor this morning and realized, I will have a green stain now in the garage for a good time to come. Thanks to The Green Machine.
After sweeping, I felt really good in the back so I tackled the horns at lunch. Pretty quick install.
Also... looks like I have a new tractor "FREE" about to drop in my lap.

Ooo free is the best price for an old tractor ! Looks like your getting closer to being done.
Yeah getting there! I need to fix a belt issue. I think my belt is about 1 inch way too long. Also need 1 guide. What is so cool, with the issues I have, it still hasn't dropped the belt.

This one is the most planned and thought out tractor I have built. I even have had parts stored up for it SEVERAL months.

I will be using an 18hp Briggs and Stratton Opposed twin running 90' clockwise from the factory location. This will give a non-twist belt configuration for the tractor.
The Roper 122419X (craftsman ver 633a) will be locked.
The front axle will be moved forward 8-10 inches.
New rack and pinion steering.
Repainted
Finish rear bumper?
Add toolbox
New tires
New LED light upgrades
New exhaust (since old was was taken for kal then chopped up)
Brake lights? Again?
Completely rewired.
4 on 4 hubs on front axle
Things re-used:
Front bumper and winch
Rear hitch mount created for patriot
Looks like I got everything on my list checked!!!

TGM is now in the shed with Red and Bowser... I'm going to need to do my fall shed cleanout soon. Also get the dog area ready for the outside dogs. Well, just one of the outside dogs. The other one will be coming in unless it gets really cold, then they both come into the garage.

At one time I tried and I ran it over the steering. You are limited to a smaller pulley and it may rub. Didn't affect my clutch.

Little update on the Green Machine. Got it out yesterday and had some fun. Ran it for a little over an hour no issues! It fired right up in the 12-degree temps.
Little highlight vid.
Unfortunately, Li'l Red was temperamental so no video there. Bowser was just dead and full of gas in the sump from trying to start it.

btw: bowser has an electrical gremlin I'm fighting. I have a plug that keeps popping out even though it is crimped and hard to slide on/out. I may need to re-look at what I got going there. Maybe even engine selection.
