The starter should not be polarity sensitive, it having an electromagnet for the armature and field coils. Not being polarity sensitive means you can hook the power up either way (+ground or -ground) and the starter will still spin the same or correct way. FYI.
The starters that are polarity sensitive are starters that have permanent magnets for the fields of the electric motor with an electromagnet armature.
As for the solenoid, doesn't matter either and are not polarity sensitive, because the plunger is just a hunk of steel and doesn't care what the polarity of the electromagnetic field is to pull it in.

Not much to do with all the goings on. Decided to remove the hood from the old girl as she needs a couple small repairs before driving about.
Word of recommendation if working one of these.... Remove the grille before the hood. Will make it much easier. The grill on this old girl weighed just as much as the rest of the hood with the gas tank.
Father in law did some work on it long ago and forgot to reinstall a vital piece. Part 7229. Yeah that guide the keeps her from going into 2 gears at once.
Also, need to clean up a carb that hasn't ran in 11 years. The throttle seems a little sticky.

She's all wired up and I through the booster on it. She spun over pretty good. Need to put a charged battery on it, oil change and some fire juice in it. See if she fires up!

It's a 1940 Ford 9N by what I can tell. Maybe 41, but thinking 40. It has had a "I think 1948" 8N motor transplant.
4 cylinder engine. Comes in around 25HP. It ran as of 11 years ago when it was parked. I hope to change the engine oil today if I can find a dry spot on the porch. Tank has minor internal rust in it. I may mix in a little oil into the fuel to help preserve it. Externally the fuel tank is mint. Once I get the oil changed, I'll try to start it up. I have the battery on charger.

Have you taken a peek at the carb? Can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it or not
Opened it up last night. Looked good. No varnish or anything inside. Needle looked new as well as the seat. It was missing an idle screw, but one off an old briggs opposed carb worked fine. Same screw size.

You should post pics of where the oil filter and oil fill is on these, I think it's interesting. At least on the jubilees.
No problem...

Yep! Drove it around the yard and made some nice ruts in the soft wet ground. LOL. All gears worked. Forgot to test the 3pt lift, I'll try that today sometime. I know the PTO works.

alright........time to straight pipe it
Nah, she's fine with the ole muffler.
I did clean out and fill up the air filter with some fresh oil. Can't wait to fire it up again for another stroll! I have a couple sleeve hitch bottom plows. I was thinking of fabricating a double hookup for the ol' girl to make a 2 plow setup.

I forgot these were naturally orchard tractors with low exhausts and no air stacks lol. That's long gone on the jubilee. Other companies like John Deere and IH mage orchard versions of their tractors with different exhausts and intakes. Some models were even lower profile with extra cowling to deflect branches from the steering wheel and driver.
