2020 Top Tractor Challenge

2019 was a hit in my opinion and gives way for 2020 to have another Top Tractor Challenge. The TTC is an event where we put heavily modified tractors up against different timed obstacles to test the tractors along with the drivers abilities to traverse the different type of courses, and to see who comes out on top. It’s a Saturday/Sunday event rain or shine, there is a buy in that covers an event Tshirt and good for Saturday.

DATES- Saturday and Sunday August 8-9

LOCATION- pymatuning pennsylvania  

WHO- who is allowed to attend? 15 tractor cap see below if you’d like to attend

TRACTORS REQUIREMENTS- must be lawn or garden tractor and must resemble a tractor with finished product, must be an OPE engine (no motorcycle,atv,snowmobile,cars engines) 20” or larger tire size recommended , LOCKED TRANSAXLE recommended , maximum 45”wide, working killswitch(key ignition is fine)
    Other than those requirements you’re pretty much free to modify, you can’t just show up with an atv with a lawn mower body ontop

PRIZES- winners will get trophies and prizes that are to be determined

BUY IN- probably going to be 25$ again this year(will cover event tshirt and food for Saturday)

EVENTS- mud bog, rock crawl, hill climb, frame twister, tank trap (+\-  some events and some redesigns)

HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE- 18years old+ event if you’re under the age of 18 and would like to participate please contact me and we can discuss. we have very very limited space so I’m going to cap this at 15ish tractors as we had trouble accommodating 10 tractors this past 2019.so all 10 previous participants will get a reinvite so that leaves roughly 5 more tractors to attend,  if you want to come sent me some pictures of your rig and tell me a little bit about it, this is tough competition and the more highly modified well built rigs will be chosen over the lesser built ones.


CLASSES- we are going to run the normal class on Saturday like we did this past year and we may do a turf tire class also this will have to be on Sunday
      TURF TIRE CLASS- you may think this is for less modified stock builds but that’s where you would be wrong, this is going to be 20” maximum turf tires(cutting is allowed) you thought the obstacles were difficult with aggressive 26s wait until you have to rock bounce and jump your way over obstacles with your tiny turf tires, my guess would be wheel speed and full force offroad assault is your best bet on making it through with turf tires
      This is just an idea we’ve been throwing around

CAMPING- a lot of last years slept in tents in my yard which if you plan to do that again just make sure you let me know, there are camp grounds in the area along with hotels with in a 20 minute drive MEADVILLE, PA CONNEAUT, PA Linesvile, PA Pymatuning, Pa Andover, OH all local cities that have camp grounds or hotels

Just like 2019 the whole event will also be filmed, edited and documented on my YouTube channel redzz02

All in all 2019 was a great time and I’m looking forward to competing against you guys in the 2020 racing season I’m hoping to see all you guys again and some new faces!

Edit 1: I will be on vacation the week before the TTC so if anyone that is planning on coming out your more than welcome to come before Saturday just make sure you let me know

I hope we see some new build for this.

@TheBeal I know mr.modified, highboy77, mr.studabaker, johnathan, my self and the girlfriend will all have new builds, Creepycrawler night if he has enough time, dougs tractor will be up to par. It’s going to be an action packed event

I would love to do it but I am not an extreme offroad builder but my wheel horse on 26" ags goes allot of places... If you need to fill a spot hit me up I would make the cross country (state) drive to beat the hell out of it and bring a few others just for the fun of it.........

yeah man I got a cub too that is about the same, 26" ags, but the cub rears are allot easier to lock than the 8sp rears. I am all about it, but im not gonna fight anyone for spots based on mods because I will always lose..... All I got is tractors I am willing to beat down & run hard with big tires etc... No suspension stuff etc, but I ride them every week in my woods, rocks, mud etc. You guys would have a ball at my place.....

@mrshaft696 I guess highly modified is the wrong choice of words, maybe I should have said something along the lines of a well built and modified rig. Locker, pulley swap, and brakes I personally think are the minimum to be competitive, suspension and all that Jazz isn’t needed, you’re first on the list and very well could be one of the ones to come

And for anyone that is reading this I’m really not trying to be rude or exclusive/inclusive, I had a hard time fitting who attending for the 19 season and we had a long day with 10 tractors, I hope no one takes it the wrong way

I saw the vids you guys are pretty nuts..

Count me in for this year.
I don't plan on building a new rig for this year but I do have a pretty long list of stuff to fix and improve on my current tractor.

@muddstir thanks sir! I should be able to handle it this year, still gathering stone/block, now that I have a cleaned up lot and obstacles already built I have all year to revamp and make it better!

Being that there is a number of new builds... could there possibly be a specific section for them? Like the buildoff?

These build should be interesting for sure.

Yeah a full section on the home page related to just the TTC. Updates, rules, previous winners, build threads, the works! I haven’t been paying too much attention, but has anyone suggested a badge for the winner like we have with the buildoff?

@TheBeal @CraftsmanQuad19 I don’t find in Necessary to have its own section, BUT I’m not against it, I guess everyone that chooses to do a build thread on there new rig can just state that it’s for the ttc or put it in the title? I know mistermodified already has a thread on his new build but I don’t think it states it’s for the ttc....

But I do understand it would be easier to locate and keep up to date if there was a dedicated spot

I'm not opposed either I'll think about it and maybe a button. Give me a little time.

Ill be there for sure, maybe even with this new thing that I might build someday. Lots of time to plan, wanna help out as much as I can with things. Maybe Ill just get a permit to close off the whole road for the weekend lol.

@Doug probably could just get away with shutting the street down lol, but I going to have the whole drive way clear this year along with I’m gonna talk to the neighbor about parking a few cars in there yard also, atleast I know what to expect this time I can be more prepared

Or once people park their cars, just incorporate them into the course by welding some ramps to them.

Ill be sure to bring my cone collection.

You can bring an orange high vis vest too and wave cars through when it's clear.

Looking like August 8th-9th is gonna be the dates no other weekend is good in August, this seems to work with a good amount of people or we could even push it back to September if need be? Gonna talk to the neighbor and see if we can park in there yard too, if not I may have a lot of people park up johnathans house and shuttle everyone down,

September may be too cold. Our weather is dumb.
