| I have a Spicer transaxle that i popped open to lock the diff, moved the shifter when it was split open and the shifter fork popped of the litle balls and springs and i can't get it back on. Does anyone know there is something specific about putting it back together? Advice would be much appreciated. | |

| I don't see a lot of people working on those. If you send some pictures we might be able to use our collective intelligence to help you out. | |

| If you mean the balls that ride on the detentes of the shift fork, which are the humps where the balls ride on to show which gear the shifter is in, you pull an allen screw out from the outside of the case and insert the ball then the spring in when the case halves are together and the allen screw holds them in. | |

| The 2 little metal balls and springs are for the shifter fork. Go ahead lock the transaxle and reassemble the transaxle with new grease. Install shifter fork and leave the balls and springs out. Reinstall the top case half to bottom case half and bolt together. Then where the shift fork comes out of the case (on the top side) there should be a metal cap / cover looking thing close by with a single bolt holding it on to the case. Remove the the bolt pop the small metal cap off and there should be two holes in the case go ahead and drop one ball and then one spring in each hole and reinstall the cap. I usually put a dab of rtv sealant on the case before I put the metal cap back on, and one of the springs may be sticking out of the case by .125 in ish that is fine.
That's how my Spicer transaxle is set up. | |

| I think that there is a screw on the top of the trans that you are supposed to loosen, then put the spring and ball in, then assemble the trans and tighten it again. | |

| On a side note If the case is still apart I recommend cleaning out the holes first. Just take a small pc of rag and shove it through with a small screwdriver . | |
