Jeremiah's Lifted General Lee Mud-Terrain Tractor [2019 Build-Off Entry] *

Howdy form buddy's! This is General Lee my 1988 Jacobsen Homelite LT10 lawn tractor that originally came with a 10 horse Briggs & Stratton flatty and a 3-speed Foote high/low. I completely disassembled it last year. There was some rust problems around the battery area from acid.

I have a dumb question. The tractor project thread that is was updating every time I did something to the Jacobson is no longer needed since I have entered in the build off correct? Or do I need to keep them both updated because it doesn't seem like there is a way to delete it?

You don't have to worry about updating the old thread, you can just essentially abandon it now that your Build-Off thread is underway.

@AllisKidD21 okay now once the build off is done in November will I still be able to use this or will they make it where nobody can reply on it?

AFAIK the thread will still be able to use when this 1 gets locked after the build off is done

@Double W Cross Ranch thanks and yes. All graphics that was on the General Lee will be hand painted on this General Lee theme mud mower build.

Here's some photos of Jacobsen before it became mine. It had been sitting there for probably 25 years. Tires was all flagged dry-rotted with soil all surrounding them. The deck was stuck in the soil to. Our 2005 Polaris sportsman 800 was struggling to pry it free from the Earth lol.

A few parts came in the mail yesterday. A new air filter, pre-filter, spark plug, hose clamps, gas line filter, and oil filter. I got five more shipments coming in the mail but it may take another week. Samus for the Jacobsen and some is for the Montgomery.

Dang it, looks bad. Saw that in fall 2k18 on FB in SG or MMM group...

Maintenance kit looks good tho..

@SebastianAlbrecht most people would have seen it and said forget it but for some reason I really liked the body style. it cleaned up pretty good once I got home and pressure washed it. The frame on the other hand was a rust bucket.

I clean the frame the best I could but there's some areas that the acid just ate through the metal.

The original Briggs & Stratton 10 horse Flathead carb was unfixable. I picked up a Craftsman LT 150 that had a 15 horse Kohler OHV. That's the engine on the run in it.

those carbs R cheap on ebay (15$ or so)

@SebastianAlbrecht I wanted to get that little 10 horse running and blow it up once I hit 500 subscribers but I don't want to put any money into it. It needs a new spark plug, carb, and starter before it will run.

I wouldn't blow up a reliable quality American made Briggs Engine! If I was U, I would fix it up and keep it as a spare when the junky Krahper decides to quit working

@SebastianAlbrecht I've owned a lot of mowers over the years not counting my parents. We've had a large amount of B&S over the years and a few Kohler's. This Kohler has been the best one I've ever had. This 15hp Kohler OHV has more power than my 18hp and 17.5hp B&S OHVs. It's pressure lubed + has the look of the old flathead. It's a keeper. That is a good idea to get it running again. Always good to have back ups
