Tubes got here yesterday, i got em in today and got her a little muddy. Lots of fun with all the v twin torque. Hard to believe i got the clutch just right on the first try, considering how everybody else on here fights with em.
I need to start getting some stuff on her, bumper and rear rack is really what I'm thinking.
Yeah with the governor you can put it in any gear and it just kinda goes lol.
Took her out for a good ride today. Turns out the brakes aren't as good as i thought they were, went for a ride rolling backwards down a hill. Managed to dodge all the trees on the way down lol.
The brake is still hooked to the clutch pedal, that needs to change. The range shifter kind of sucks where it is too, i might do what allis did and move the shifter up to where i can reach it.
Yeah i don't like having to lean down and move my leg to shift ranges. And dual stick are definitely neat, lol.
As I was driving this yesterday I realized there's not as much difference in speed between the two ranges as you might expect. My Snapper LT16 has a much bigger difference between high and low range than this 633 does.
This thing has pretty much been turn-key, every time i get away from my school work. The left rear tube seems to be leaking though, and it's one of those slime tubes. Gross. I guess it's not fast enough to be an issue though as the tire has only gone down the slightest bit since I filled it.
I hope the person that invented these slime tubes gets the death they deserve. I've never gotten a patch to stay on a tube with slime in it.
I watched the "project farm" video on youtube about different types of tire slimes, and the moral of the story is they don't work at all and make it harder and nastier for guys like us to actually fix the leak the right way.

She sat for a while, probably 3 months, til i dragged her out of the store the other day to put her back in order. I had scabbed the fuel pump off to get me friend's Kohler v twin running. Had to clean the carb as I guess it sat full and the ethanol deteriorated and clogged the jets. I ended up just getting a new pump and fuel filter as well.
Here you can see i put a pan seat on her, i found one with a back for my friend so he let me have his.
I also got mutt's green bumper back from my friend as he got rid of his craftsman for a Sears. I haven't decided if I'll put it on or just make one like Budgie's.
Set up a fixture on the mill to cut angles on channel iron, as harbor freight bandsaw blades are not to be trusted to cut straight.
Cut the original mounts off of the bumper as they are flimsy and too wide to clear the tires.
All welded up. The bumper is now part of the grille, basically. It's definitely ugly. If i really end up hating it I'll just cut it off and make one different. Had to put it pretty far forward to clear the tires.
And of course took it for a ride and beat on it a little to try it out.
You guys are right, these mudlights are pretty bald. I might switch the tires from Budgie on again. I'm not really sure which mower needs more traction.
In other news: local idiot still can't remember 633 shift pattern even though he has two mowers with it
The carb has always been my issue with this Kohler V twin, last couple of times I ran this the low speed circuit in the carb has been either too lean or much too fast. The little emulsion tube has tiny O rings that you have to pretty much special order O rings for. I just went ahead and bought one of those $40 china pumper carbs, and I think I'll put a fuel shutoff on it so I can save myself some carb cleaning lol.

Wouldn't putting a fuel shutoff make the carb worse? Fuel stabilizer sounds like a better idea?

Did all the usual mods with the accelerator pump, here I'm giving the pump a bit more throw.
Swapped right in.
Unfortunately I discovered that at...some point in time most of the teeth got stripped off of my reverse gear. I have absolutely no idea when or how this happened, as I haven't rode the thing in months. Oh well. The gear this one engages isn't in too good of shape either.
Guess I'm looking for a new 633 to swap the locker out of this one into.
Yeah, she's still here. Haven't done much with her since i figured out the trans was busted. Still have no clue how that happened. If i come across a good trans I'll probably swap the locker and throw it in, but besides that I don't really have plans to mess with it. I did steal her rims to put on mutt and put the wider rims I got back on though.
Spotted this one at the scrapyard a few months ago and finally got around to liberating it from the GT6000 it was in. It’s an older variant with a drum brake and cast aluminum hubs.
I stole the battery out of mutt and fired up the GT6k after installing a carb that I thought was clean. Apparently it isn’t, though at least it sort of runs. I really hate these kohler carbs. The clutch also doesn’t work as well as I thought it did, but I can see how i can fix that. The steering is super loose compared to mutt. Most of that is in the steering box itself though. I don’t think it’s so loose to make it skip though. If I’m lucky I’ll have a new transmission in this thing this weekend.
