| Well fellas, I think it's about time I got my hands on an Allis-Chalmers tractor! Found a decent deal on the ol' internet recently, and after some bartering I came home with a nice haul! Woohoo!! Hahaha. Two B-110s (one for parts), two decks, and a dozer blade. Also a couple small thing like two spare driveshafts, spare S/G, and a pull start cup. Here's the running and driving B-110 with the dozer blade mounted up: She's in pretty decent shape! Lots of fun to drive around and what not. The old 10hp cast iron Briggs starts and runs great, steering and transmission all work great, all around a pretty great little rig!! So yeah, probably wasn't neccessary to start a whole new thread for this, but I'm quite excited about finally getting my hands on an Allis-Chalmers, haha. Also I've always wanted one of this specific model so I'm quite happy. Might post a couple pictures here every once in a while of the ol' girl working away or an implement I've made for it or what have you. But for now, here's my new Allis stuff! Let me know what you think! | Thanks Mighty. Yeah just a parts machine for now. But if I could get ahold of a good horizontal Briggs oppy or something, I'd be tempted to swap that in and get 'er driving. Haha. | I think your should restore or paint the better one, find some kind of motor for the parts one and lightly modify it for off-road. | |

Thanks Matt! Yeah they are really cool old tractors, haha. I had the deck on it at first but took it off so I could use the blade and stuff, haha. Thw deck that was on it needs a bit of welding underneath, but other than that they're both in great shape. - Crazy_Carl wrote:

Well I don't know about a restoration, then I wouldn't want to do any work with it. Haha. I'd like to find a horizontal shaft opposed or something to try and stick in the other one, so maybe that'll turn into some sort of a resto-mod someday. | Also I did some more messing around yesterday. Picked up some dead grass and spruce cones with the sweeper, then changed the engine oil once she was nice and warmed up. Then I got the idea to try and rig up some sorta quick hitch lift system for the rear, this is what I came up with: Didn't turn out too bad, haha. It works pretty good and it's quite solid. I've decided I don't like that the chain though, probably gonna change things up and use a piece of flatstock soon. Should be better. But for now I made a little drawbar attachment and painted everything up: The draw bar attachment is super nice because I can turn real sharp without jack-knifing the trailer. Still gonna change that chain but for now she works pretty good. Of course afterwards I had to put the blade back on and do some more playing around: Man am I ever having fun with this ol' girl. | Thanks Carl! Yeah we have a little two-gang disk harrow for garden tractors here, I'd like to try and mount a frame with two wheels to the back of it and then hook the front of the disk into the lift hitch so the disk could be raised off the ground. I'll probably rig up some other random stuff for it as well, haha. Thanks! It's a 10hp Briggs Model 24. Also not positive on the year unfortunately, but it's probably between '68 and '70. | Got some pictures of the drivetrain setup as promised: You can see the bevel gear box which is driven by a driveshaft off the flywheel of the engine, and has two output shafts: As you can see the one pulley is for the transmission and uses a simple.single pulley clutch. The other pulley is for the middle PTO which can drive a mower deck, rotortiller, etc. Rear view of the transaxle housing: Pretty nice setup, definitely fairly heavy duty. Doubt I'll be breaking it anytime soon, haha. | That hub looking thing close to the right rear wheel is actually the differential assembly. It has 8 pinion gears inside similar to some older transaxles like the Wheel Horses and what not. | Little more tinkering over the weekend, I wired my lights to the battery instead of the generator like they were before: Perfect! No more annoying surging lights, haha. Then I finally got rid of the chain I was using to lift and lower the quick hitch. I ended up using a 12" or so 3/4" bolt for the lift link, that way I had a lot of adjustment. All assembled: Works fantastic! There's no "floating" now and I can actually put some down pressure on an implement. Looks a lot better than the chain too, haha. Lastly I did something I've been wanted to do for a while, I built a bolt on wheel attachment for the little disk harrow so I actually have a way to lift and lower it: Pretty simple as you can see, but it works awesome! Nice to be able to lift the disks off the ground for transport or to turn around. Just gotta paint it up now to make it look cool, haha. Also since the disk gangs slide off individually I thought it'd be cool to build other attachments to slide on the the disk harrow frame, like a grader blade or cultivator etc, and basically turn the disk frame into a little tool bar of sorts. Maybe I'll try and make some stuff up soon, might be pretty handy. Let me know what ya think! | Good for travel, do you remove them when you are using it like in your trailer thread? Otherwise it would look like the tires would pack back down what you loosen. Maybe a way to invert them over the top to add weight? I dunno... You have good ideas. | |

| Thanks Mighty! Unfortunately yeah the wheels do run right behind the disk gangs and pack the dirt back down a little, haha. It's not too bad though. I'd like to possibly find two more disk gangs to hook up to the back or something, that would fix the issue.
