Haha! That's a good one . I am having fun building this as it doesn't matter if it looks good or what kind of material I use on it. It might replace the Murray.....what ya think ? Got the hood on, racked it, fenders, mock up front tires , and the rear rolls really well compared to a junky transaxle .

Yeah an ATV rear end is going to built better than an everyday transaxle.  I bet the atv rear end uses nice high speed ball bearings or tapered roller bearings.



The question remains...Will you be able to break this one too?

I had a few old ones laying around. Thought I'd put them to good use. And I like the way it looks. I think junk builds are more my thing, less planning and less costs but still a srivable machine and a fun building process.

Yeah, I used a real old combination wrench for the brake lever on my rat rod tractor. Turned out pretty cool, haha.

You hate your Murry. Are you going to officially retire that tractor and rip the front suspension out of it?

I don't know. I would rather get it running again and try to sell it . Not sure if that's a very likely thing to get sold tho.

Yeah unfortunately that's the said truth about this great hobby of ours. The resale value is nothing. Redline couldn't even sell his faqmous mtd for $500 with spare parts included! It's worth that all day long.

It might get sold at a farm show. Idk , I could revamp it I guess.

I've actually had people offer to buy or trade for my stuff. CQ and his buddy are gonna come get Onion one of these days lol.

Idk. The Murray was my second off roader so I am attached to it no matter how much I hate it.....

New front paws!! Made some nice 4 by 4 hubs and put on the tires that I am going to use the rims out of eventually. While looking through my tire pile I realized how many bad tires I have so I bit the bullet and un mounted a bunch but still have like 8 more to de bead.also washed the frame off.

General location of where the transmission is going to be so the output can line up with the axle input and I can delete the u joint.

This is going to be sweet. Want to do something like this myself someday, don't have to worry about blowing the transaxle up.

Well I still have another atv rear end !! There pretty heavy so shipping would be a pain. I would guess the weight around 45 lbs or more with tires on.

turning the transmission 90 degree was a good idea. Now you just have to run a chain straight down to the rear end.

Haha, yeah it would be. I wasn't implying that I wanted it. I could get one locally. We have trespassers who come up here on their wheelers all the time. I can just shoot out a tire or two and then impound it and steal shocks, axles, etc from it!!! LOL
