| Have you checked the condition of your shift keys? Maybe there's a burr there or they're chowdered up. | |

| I put’er back under the tractor tonight. I didn’t drive it far since it’s dark and didn’t want to get hit. It seemed to shift fine now, but it’s too early to tell for sure. | |

| Yeah buddy, the barbed fitting, is that something that can be found at a hardware store? If so then I can take the red cap in to get the right size and threads. I just looked online but idk what size I need and stuff like that I like to buy in person. | |

| I am not sure of the threads, but take the red cap with you if threaded and go to the hardware store over by the pipe fittings and such.
EDIT, google search gave me this.

EDITED- Good catch. I forgot to include the MST, which I have also done it on. It's late, and I'm tired as heck. | |

| It would appear I do not have permissions in tech forums to bring those posts back. So here are the quotes. I sincerely apologize for mixing this up. - Doc Sprocket wrote:
- Barbed fitting- Get a 1/4" NPT pipe to 1/4" Hose fitting. They're usually brass. Chuck it in a vise and cut the last 3 threads off. Teflon tape it well, and screw it in. Why cut it? If you don't, it will bottom out and hit the shift fan.
I've been using this method for years. - Doc Sprocket wrote:

Go figure! LOL- The above applies to ALL Peerless pancake style aluminum transmissions and transaxles. 700, 800 (Incl 820), 900, and MST. I've done it on them all. - MightyRaze wrote:

| Just a word on the MST- I'm struggling like hell to remember here- I seem to remember the drain/filler hole not being threaded, and me having to thread it. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm tired- but in the case of all other models, the fitting goes in the neutral safety switch hole. | |
