@AllisKidD21 wish bone three link is just a cheated 4 link, but it's a good idea, I think the middle top link will get in my way

@mightyraze I actually saw your post right after I posted mine and saw you switched to a mono link, I was leaning more towards a mono link, but I think I'll stick with doing a 3 link, we do not want every build having a mini link now do we lol

But not quite. I can see what you mean about the center link possibly getting in the way though, but there would be ways around it I'm sure. It'd be neat to see this setup on a lawn tractor for sure! Haha.

Huh . Interesting front end , are those uneven pieces are for mock up or are they playing a supporting role? What is the compression weight limit on those cool overs? I would like to build a rally style tractor , I might if I get should of a good tranny to use.

@AllisKidD21 off coarse they aren't the same, complete different geometry, but it's basically a triangulated 4 link

@biggasmowers no sir that is all jig and mock up, I would be completely disgusted with myself if my front suspension looked like that as a final product, most of it is tack welded on to keep the front axle in the exact spot so that way I can fab up the complete suspension set up with out it shifting, my rod ends are suppose to be in on Friday so maybe this weekend I can get some work done and I'll be able to cut all the junk off and be left with what it is suppose to look like

@biggasmowers also I cannot remember the specs but they are nitrogen filled so they are completely adjustable, I can see if I can find the specs on them

I plan on doing a double triangulated 4 link on my build, so watching you do a three link is interesting. I wonder how you're going to do the steering.

I dont know what kind of forces will be working on these tabs, but some reinforcement might be a good idea?

They might be fine, but seems like a good place for some gussets.

At any rate, its looking good.

@TheBeal sir its a long way from being done, be patient, most of this is mainly mock up and temporary to make sure everything is going to clear and work out. might even have some girls for you when its done



but to everyone i just started putting the front end together and it is far from done, be patient and youll see it all come together in the end, once she is a rolling chassis and my suspension geometry is all figured out, it will be fully welded, completed with brackets, gussets and all! ill put some pictures up of the start of my spindles later on

@Doc Sprocket atleast its inside the rear, no one can see the screw up

i did some work on the spindles, i ended up getting a piece of heavy wall pipe and bored it out to one inch

cut a steel bushing with a 1 inch OD and a 3/4 ID and welded them into the heavy wall pipe with a little recess

then i took flanged bronze bushing with a 3/4 OD and a 5/8 ID and now i have wearable bushings in my spindle and fit perfectly in my spindle barrels now because of the little recess i left












i also picked up a  lot of atv tires just for these 8 inch itp wheels, they have a killer rock ring on them and are gonna look hella good cleaned up and wrapped in my 18 inch AG tires

Nice work on the spindle knuckles, should be a good setup. Those rims look pretty slick!

Nice job, I am working something similar for my steering bell crank mount.

@redzz02 This is looking really professional. Should last really long even under hard use.

The funny this is yesterday I drew a part very similar to this and sent it to a buddy that owns a machine shop. I'm surprised that you didn't go with 3/4 kingpins since your rig is built pretty heavy duty. I could do something like this for mine too but finding the right piece of pipe and boring it out is the hard part for me. Which is something you did easily. Did you use a small boring bar?

@Crazy_Carl luckily we had like a 10 inch piece on the metal rack at work, I actually used a 1 inch step but haha, it worked decent the ID was already in between 7/8 and 3/4 so it wasn't too bad

really loving the new itp 8 inch rock ringed rims i picked up and love the 18x9.50-8 AG tires wrapped onto the rims, i might ditch the hiper bead locks and run these full time now???????







got some more of the suspension done, i need to make up a couple more pieces for the 3rd link, and then gussets and i should be able to cut all my jigs off and see if itll work. i still need to finish my spindles and then start on my steering

i went with 7/16 hiem joint and 3/4 square tubing for my links, i figured id do something  little different











ive also decided to do a 6 on the motor and a 5 on the transaxle

It must take some serious self control not to weld it up. Thats always a fun process.

@TheBeal I learned my lesson with the 4x4 build, cutting off fully welded steering components is not fun when you figure out it turns the opposite way

Yep I saw the video.  I enjoyed it.  I'm excited to see how your suspension progresses.

speaking of suspension @Crazy_Carl its almost done!

apart from a couple gussets and some more welds, the suspension is complete.  3    3/4 inch links with 7/16s  heims, and one pan hard bar with  3/8 heims. shocks are a little bit stiff but i want the suspension to be stiff, my goal is to soak up some of the bumps and relieve some stress on my back not flex like a rock crawler.

and i just started on my knuckles today, i kinda have an idea for my steering but im not too sure yet

The suspension looks great! It's cool how it has the off center upper link bar like on the front of a 4wd truck. Great work!

@AllisKidD21 You definitely have a good suspension eye.  It makes sense to move that toplink over so it doesn't interfere with the engine pulley or crankshaft.  It's be easier to work on belt and pulleys without a link bar right in your way.

@redzz02  Do you know the application that the shocks you bought are designed for?  Would you send me the link to them?
