I'm out of pocket till next wednesday. I'll try to get something for you. I might be able to get you a screenshot of the manual till I get a real pic! - Crazy_Carl wrote:

Did you use any teflon tape to seal your oil plug? Yeah I did the second time. I am beginning to think there may be a crack in the tube out to the elbow on the bottom. I plan on replacing the whole thing soon.

| Cool. Does it have a double clutch or is one just a stationary idler? The clutch in my GT is a double pulley riggins and it works pretty great. | Now to start getting into gear on this thing.
* Belt Guides (although it has performed well without them. LOL) * Wire the winch * Exhaust (still on the fence for final design) * Redo the oil drain. * Make a Battery Cover * Figure out some storage in the rear? * Purchase new thrust washers and dust caps for front hubs, then grease them. (Ordered) * Heims for the steering rod and paint it.
Other nice things to figure out.... some kind of layer to help with hood rub on dash. Also maybe a tether kill.

| So............................ Here it is as of today. So......................... I got it out for a preliminary ride today to see what my bugs were. Boy there was a couple and one monster one. Simple one... I need another washer in my foot throttle. It was a bit sticky on the acceleration but not the deceleration. I do not have video but I took Kal out to the field behind the house. Suspension is a trip. Rides smooth through the field bumps even though I do not have suspension in the rear. The BIG issue is... I need to move the front axle forward at least 4 inches. I had enough travel that I almost put the front wheel on the foot board. I do not want to cut the grille so I will need to get creative there. Good thing it is the first of June and not Nov. I'd be in a heap of hurt. I'll be hurting enough due to the heat. We are already hitting 100.... | |

| Looking good! Yeah the reason I moved the axle forward when I did the Murray front end was because of the limited front end space. On the muckraker I am putting a stuck up front end look on it so I can leave the axle in a closer to stock postion.
Our humidity was 80 percent with 98 degrees. Sit outside and your pouring sweat, loaded up the trailer right all my scrap machines and my clothes were drenched.

| Hmmmm.... You would loose some travel, but would it be possible to just rig up some bump stops for the suspension so the front wheels won't go up near the foot boards? | The front tires are just too large for the position they are in. I thought a couple inches forward would be enough. I guess not. - RichieRichOverdrive wrote:
- That sucks. Gonna have room to move all the suspension and mounts forward, or are you gonna have to extend the frame?
I am unsure of what I am going to do at this time. I'm going to sleep on it and think about it tomorrow.

| Doing some looking and I have a pretty ugly top attachment point for the little shocks. I think I will make a new one and place it in front of the grill on the bumper braces. I am pretty certain they are strong enough. I have bounced my weight on the front corner of the bumper with no bending. Then I will make a new monolink for the front axle and keep the same attachment point under the tractor.
I am glad I held off on the exhaust. This will open me up in front of the engine for some more options on running pipe.

| Hopefully it works out for the better. I always thought the wheelbase on this was a little short, I was just withholding judgment till I saw it with the body on but the nose sticks out past the front wheels | |

All was good. I did move the axle forward a bit in original design, but did not account for the size of the tire and articulation of the front end. When doing my flex test I may have gotten the tire what was it about 7 inches off the ground, but what I didn't account since I was on flat ground, was the other side's ability to DROP. I should have taken a picture, I had the left side down as far as the right side was up. This gave more angle to the "up" tire allowing it to easilly grab the foot board. - biggasmowers wrote:
- Simple solution. Smaller tires.
I can't tell you how many times I have contemplated doing that this weekend. With those massive rear tires, I don't think it would look right with smaller tires. I spent the better part of the weekend cleaning and re-arranging the garage so I have more working space. I hope to put the front on stands and remove the front axle and ponder it. Maybe rework and make it better. As I mentioned, if I move it forward a bit, will I run into my bumper? Will I need to stretch that out a little? We will see.
