Done exhaust yet?

I think I'm actually gonna leave the exhaust the way it is, maybe cut the ends so they match a bit more. But it sounds awesome and it's not super loud surprisingly.

Just for fun, find you a big pipe about 2.5 inches diameter and about 3-4 ft long and stick it on there just to listen to it. I think you will be surprised.

Yeah maybe I'll try that sometime, we'll see haha.

Well a problem has come about that I and I'm sure all of you guys saw coming with the new engine.



The little battery won't start the engine more than two times in a row, hahaha. So I got a big 540 CCA automotive battery to go in place instead! I figured that'd do the job, haha.

Had to make a new battery tray to drop the taller battery down a bit.



And after some cutting of the fenders (not near as much as I expected though), it fit perfectly!







Sooo much better! The ol' oppy winds over to beat hell now, shouldn't have a problem with it even with my lights on the front. Pretty darn happy I did this, haha. Let me know what ya think!

Thanks Carl! Yeah, I would love to have some sort of camera mount setup so I could make some better romp videos. Have to make something like that soon.

Yes, but the old battery was only 150CCA, so I'm almost positive that was the problem, hahaha. Also I'm pretty sure my charging system works pretty good because I can run my lights for a long time and it hasn't killed the battery. It just didn't quite have the output to crank the ol' opposed over, haha.

Haha, for sure. The big 540 does a much better job.

I finally got around to mounting a couple small clevis' to my front bumper today:









Kind of simple little brackets welded to the bumper. It'll be handy to have an actual good tow point on the front of 'er now, plus it just looks kinda neat, and who doesnt like that? Haha.

Looks pretty good! I just remembered I don't have a really good spot to hook a chain on my front bumper now because of the skidplate...

I think Id slap a gusset on the top of those brackets.
that way, if you cant pull from strait ahead, those brackets wont get bent to the side.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Just like some triangle pieces in the top corner would be good I would think. Better safe than sorry, haha.

Haha, the old TJ, CJ, XJ's etc. are pretty cool but I'm not like a hardcore Jeep fan. This thing is supposed to be a rock crawler/mud bomber rig though so I guess it is kinda like my mini Jeep, hahaha.

Thanks mighty! Yep, after Beal suggested it I figured it was probably a smart thing to do. Hopefully tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Well I haven't done my gussets yet, we had to get a load of wood and when we got back I just felt like wheeling so that's what I did, haha.

Loving the new engine for sure! Changed the oil and filter last night 'cuz it smelled fairly old. Should be a bit happier with some fresh stuff in 'er now.



Maybe I'll drag the old welder out and get a couple little gussets made here in the next hour or so, haha.
