Haha, well it had to be ordered in and it was gonna take two weeks to get to the store. That's why I've just been messing around with other stuff while I wait.

Hanging safety switch, not hooked to anything, might get snagged on something. Funny, LOL. Looks like the clutch safety switch, (is that thing still on there?), even funnier. I think the safety guards been thrown clean out the window a while ago on this build, the funniest ever!!

Awesome front end work by the way. 2 link with pan bar, right? And the tie rod is not backwards, it's forward, LOL.

 Yep, all safety switches gone on 'er, haha. Nothing to worry about for those who are concerned.

Also thanks! Yeah it's a 2-link or radius arm setup, pretty excited for the first drive with it to test it all out!

Might as well update this here thread, I got my coil for the opposed about a week ago:



Haven't made it out there to put it on yet, but the plan is to go down tomorrow, put the new coil on, and see how she runs! I'm not sure if I wanna drive it around yet, or if I wanna just keep re-vamping a bunch of stuff on it, haha. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

Either way sounds good to me! I should probably get a coil for mutt haha

Yeah, me too. I'll probably drive it around a little bit really, it's been forever and I'd love to test the new Y-link setup out.

Haha, yeah it should be good. Even has some thin guage wire and a couple connectors for hooking up the kill switch wire.

Well I got the brand new magic spark-maker put on today:





Definitely great to hear the ol' oppy running again! I did have to go back to a fixed main jet though as apparently the adjustable setup didn't work so well, which is no biggie, I'm just glad to have 'er running again!

Next thing I had to do was fix my grille. A little while ago I accidentllly broke off a peice that the bolt goes through to hold the hood on, so I basically couldn't have the hood on:



So I figured out a way to fix the issue and sorta strengthen the grille at the same time.



Rarley is there a problem that angle steel can't fix

Both brackets made and welded in place:



Added a little cross piece just for some extra strength:



Turned out decent, then I got the grille all mounted up:



Then finally, put the hood on a take 'er for a spin!










Feels great to have 'er driving again! I don't have any complaints about the new suspension setup, haven't too much wheeling yet but so far I'm liking it. Hopefully it's holds up well! I definitely missed romping this ol' rig around, hahaha. Let me know what ya think!

Yeah every single MTD with that plastic grille that is in the junkyard is broken the exact same way. Looks really cool, like a hot rod, but completely undrivable. I just sold a huskee with the same grille (literally like an hour ago) that was broken like that and fixed by a previous owner.

Had a piece of flat steel going across the hood mounts with self tapping screws into what was left of the plastic bottom. Wasn’t super strong but it worked

Did a lot of romping with this thing today and it appears to be running real good. The carb could still use a tiny bit of tweaking but I'm still really happy with it.



Definitely had some fun with it today, hopefully things stay working good.

Thanks Matt! Yeah it's definitely a good idea to try and stenghthen them up a bit.

Did a little exhaust work today. I sorta cut the tips down a bit and bent the inner one to match a little better, then I put some paint on them.

All cleaned up with the wire wheel:



Super high-tech painting setup:



All done!





Turned out pretty nice, looks a lot better than the rust anyways, haha.
