Thanks Creepy! Yeah I tried picking this thing up by the pre-runner and it held up good. It's hard to pick up though cuz it's really heavy haha.

so for shocks or coil overs should they be at an angle towards the frame ?

Well I believe it can change the leverage on them when you angle the top in, but if your coilovers have the proper weight rating it shouldn't be nesseccary. My coils are straight up and down from the front and they work fine, they angle back a little bit from the side but that's just because of the positive caster my axle has.

Ok , not sure what weight rating my coil overs are . They might work tho so i am going to try them .

Try stacking blocks under your coilovers so they stand taller than your front bumper, then try and set the tractor on the coilovers by the bumper. That way you can see how much your tractor will compress them.

More steering junk tonight.

I got my steering box mounted way more solid than before.



Doesn't flex in place anymore, haha. I also put a different tie rod on with heim joints.



And I basically re-configured and adjusted all the linkages and ends for my bell crank, I also had to modify the bell crank a bit so both ends were 90* to each other.





It works so much better now! It's incredibly smooth even though the tractor's not moving, just like it was when I first put the GMC box in. I'm pretty happy with it hahaha. I'm also currently turning the old tie rod into a track bar, so hopefully I'l be able to get that finished and get some pictures of it.

Looks great. Love that GM steering box. You have a pic of your axle linkages? Ill need to go back through your thread. I was just curious how you hooked them all up to the frame.

Nice work i want to upgrade my steering to after I finish my front axle.

Also I got my track bar done!





Works great! Should be better that the axle locator. the test drive went well, a couple of adjusments needed and the Ackerman angles need to be fixed, but the steering is super smooth! I can palm steer it like I like to do so I'm happy! Let me know what ya think!

Like the bellcrank setup man! I wanna gear Mutt's steering down a bit more if I can, it's a bit of a wrestling match when you're sitting still. Like butter at speed though. I expect more crawling videos showing off the ease of your steering! Hahaha

Thanks Rich! I'm hoping to do a lower support bushing for the bell crank and dial in my Ackerman angles before I do too much driving. But then I'll give 'er a good test run! Haha.

Yay I got my tires today!



Got them all unwrapped.









They only measure up to about 17 1/2", which might change once they're full of air. I'm actually pretty happy about that because I thought 20" was a bit too much and it would look stupid, so if they only end up being like 18" it should be perfect.

Also I think ing about making my steering knuckles kinda like the ones Doc had on MULE:



Hopefully I'll start on those this weekend and then I can get my new tires mounted!

Yeah I'm really happy with them, they should look pretty sweet on the ol' MTD! Haha.

Like the tires !don't get your hopes up,... I bought some tires that,looked wider and smaller but once I aired them up they went to the correct dimensions
