Yup, hahaha. Anyway I didn't quite get this ol' girl ready to roll yet this weekend, but I'm so very close! I actually started the engine for the first time in a few months on Monday. I made a video of it for my channel, should be posted sometime next week. After I am sure that everything is A-OK with the trans swap, I can move on to the the next big thing like steering of something. I have lots of ideas for this thing I just gotta figure out in which order to do them. Hahaha, we'll see I guess!! Stay tuned!

I decided to go a different route with the support bearing for my input shaft. Frankly welding the bearing to the bracket wasn't very smart and it would've most likely not held up, haha. But luckily I had a better idea.





The pillow block should hold up pretty nice I think. Also, after a lot of trial and error with belts and what not, I finally got this thing driving today!! Nothing crazy, just a little playing around and sorting out some issues, but it's driving! I'll have a video uploaded later today hopefully of me driving it a little bit. Let me know what ya think!

Checked out the vid. Good to see it driving! I need to finish up some work on Red, sometime between my buildoff tractor and other stuff! Part of my exhaust fell off. LOL Nothing on the important side. HEHE.

Yeah, one time I raced my Mom. She was on the MTD and I on the rat rod. Needless to say I won, gonna have to have a re-match! Hahaha!

Well, bit of a change of plans. The MTD is no longer gonna be a 15 speed. I've been trying to get the vari-drive to work with the new trans, but it aint honna happen, hahaha. Ive decided to just build a clutch and run a belt. It kinda sucks because it wont be as unique as i wanted, but ah well. Ill get some pics when i start building the clutch!

It's almost done, I just gotta finish the welds and hook up a spring.



I used the old vari-drive idler for the clutch.






Hopefully this will be simpler than the vari-drive hahaha. Let me know what ya think!

Prolly gonna need a decent tension spring for that single pulley clutch, could slip a lot. Besides that it looks good

Yeah probably, there is gonna be an idler right ahead of the clutch to keep the belt from rubbing on the suspension centre link. Hopefully that helps. If not I'll have to convert it to a double pulley clutch setup like in the rat rod.

I was just looking at some old build threads and I found out I'm not the first to put a Peerless 600 in an MTD. Dangeroustoys put one in a '96 MTD, but I don't think he ever finished it. Just kind of an interesting thing I thought I'd share, hahaha!

Yeah, hahaha. Anyway hopefully sometime this week I'll get a belt the right size and I can see how well the clutch is going to work. Might be able to drive this bad boy again sometime soon!! Hahaha!

Did a bit of frame bracing on the ol' girl today. I basically just used angle iron to go along the frame, hopefully it should stiffen the frame up a bit.









I had to do quite a bit of cutting to make room for the drag link and the oil drain, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Hopefully I'll get a belt soon and I can put 'er through 'er paces! Hahaha, let me know what ya think!
