Thanks! To be honest I was gonna use it, but its a bit too long hahaha!

Ran into a bit of a snag, me and Papa have been trying to get the rims off using hammers, chisels, prybars, WD40, Fluid Film, and a LOT of heat. We even tried heating it then shocking it with water. We've been beating the one rim so bad it spins way off kilter. I've given up on this trans... but the guy said if anything happens to it, I could bring it back and get a new one. I'm gonna see if he'll let me have the one out of the Ford LT-75, because rims don't seize to hubs as bad as shafts hahaha! I'll let you guys know what happens after I bring the old trans back.

Here's a trick I tried once. Drill holes in the rim, then use a flywheel puller by inserting bolts through the holes and nuts on the end. Then tighten the puller up against the axle shaft. Shouldn't bend the rim too much if you drill as close to the center as possible.

Yeah I thought about trying that, but I just figured if they won't come off after all we did, a puller wouldn't help much either. Unfortunately... Oh well, thanks for the tip anyway!

i had a stuck rim like that once i had to cut it off with the grinder to get it off, it took an hour for grinding to get the thing off. stuck rims can be pain. antiseize ftw i guess

Yeah I would've tried cutting them off somehow, but with my luck I'd completely wreck the axle shaft hahaha. I agree with ya on the Anti-Seize thing though! Talk about a life saver!

Well, I've got good news! Although I couldn't return the trans, the guy said if I cut the rims off and brought them back, he'd just give me a new pair of rims. So...


Got a friend to cut them off and I just gotta exchange them. So I'm pretty happy about that!

Also I got a couple coil overs and I got them all mounted up and working good. So l'll show you guys some pictures of that soon.

Looking great! Any plans on adding to the bumper? Like a single loop, or cages around the lights or anything?

Thanks! The bumper is probably just going to get painted, and possibly get a couple small clevis mounts just to have tow points at the front. And yeah I thought about maybe adding little cage/guards for the lights, cuz It'd sucks to break one of the glass lenses hahaha.

Haha yeah, thats what i thought. Do you know what you are going to use for the cages yet?

I'm probably just gonna use a piece of rebar to go around the outside perimeter of the lenses. That'd at least help a bit.

But anyway, the old' MTD still isn't drivable yet. But I do have something exciting to show you guys!

looks great! Carlisle Strykers I believe? Also, you should find some expanded metal for a guard for those lights! That would be cool!

Thanks Rich! Actually they're Duro Sand and Mud tires, same tread as the Carlisles though. Not a bad idea on the expanded steel for the lights, might have to try that haha!

nice reminds me of the bumper on my roper, simple and effective haha, i had to make a gueard for the lights too, and it was a good thing because i almost destroyed the lights when i went on the first romp after i installed them, ill have to make a guard for my taillight too since its on the rear bumper and the friend that rides with me has no brakes , but also i have a tendency of backing up into trees when in on the trail lol. ill have to get some tires for my yard man too but for now ill stick to the turfs, makes for fun drifting.

Yeah hahaha. Well hopefully I will have this 'ol girl driving again soon, I just need to get a woodruff key for the input shaft on the trans and really adjust the linkages for the vari-drive. Springtime's a coming! Hahaha!

Cool Build! Those back tires are blast from the past for me... Back in the 1980's is when the originals of those came out - they were called "Wooley Boogers" - They were Thee mud tires to have on your trike/quad then! Delivered newspapers & mowed quite a few lawns to get me a set!
